Can we all agree that he is being a little bit of a "snowflake"? I know people love to use that word here. I feel like this is the perfect example.

It would have gone away faster if he just didn't say anything. He is only adding salt to the wound and making more people look up the videos and watch them.

As a side note - It's not overrated. It's very good. The musical is incredibly well written and the casting is perfect. I would say the only "less impressive" part is the stage production itself. It is rather sparse so nothing to write home about. It relies more on dance and imagination. Nothing wrong with that, just not "impressive" like Les Miserables or Phantom's stage is with their multiple giant moving parts.

I take my hat off to "Hamilton" for at least being original and new. Broadway is so filled with revivals and ancient long running shows these days, it's great to see something fresh become a hit. I'm not really a hip-hop person, but that won't prevent me for saying that it's great to see some of the bleed heart libruls trying to express their political views in a creative and productive manner. We need more "Hamiltons" and less whiny protestors blocking streets. I don't even have a problem with the "non-white" casting because Orson Welles staged an all-black version of "Macbeth" in 1936 under the idea that he had adapted it to take place in a voodoo culture. Does that make Welles a racist? I guess people would debate so.

I haven't watched any Bway shows in ages, but during my stint in NYC in the mid to late 2000's, it was pretty much a dry run of nothing but old shows (great old shows, but still, it's sad when there's no new creative blood out there.) All the interesting stuff back then was off-Bway, or even off-off. Yeah, I totally agree about the cast of "Hamilton": as its creator said, it's a tale about old America told by new Americans. That plus the hip-hop is why it works. Getting more people of color youth out of the streets and onto the stage doing creative stuff is a win-win for everyone. I'm glad to hear that Bway is making a comeback with fresh shows. Looks like the old medium of the musical isn't dead yet after all.

Please tell me you caught Spring Awakening while it was on Broadway. In terms of the "Late 2000's" that and In the Heights are probably the only ones worth mentioning in my opinion. Spring Awakening though remains one of the best musicals I've witnessed. Incredibly powerful. The source literature is over 100 years old, but the themes were all very poignant and modern. It came back this past year with a new production where half the cast was deaf and it was performed in American Sign Language. On paper it seems strange, but it worked really well.

Edit: How can I forget Billy Elliot, also very good. Though I don't think it was Broadway in the late 2000's, mostly West End.

Please tell me you caught Spring Awakening while it was on Broadway. In terms of the "Late 2000's" that and In the Heights are probably the only ones worth mentioning in my opinion. Unfortunately I missed it. American Sign Language, that sounds really great actually. Nothing wrong with adapting old material, especially if it's still relevant to audiences today.

Hey, musicals are a great American tradition! Heck, even the first musical ever, "Showboat" from 1926, dealt with racial relations and tensions.

You are overusing that term to the point where it lacks any bite or purpose. Save it for when it is actually relevant. Calling all musical goers and cast members "Snowflakes" is such a broad group of people just makes you look like you can't craft an argument or opinion of substance.
