Hello, I am a US citizen that filed for a K1 visa for my fiancé that I have known and grew up with for years. We are both Nigerians in a bonafide relationship.

We went to the embassy with a whole lot of proof and now we are in "administrative processing". After we got that news, I found out my fiancé and I are expecting our very first child together (Thank God :)(L))

I am back in the states and need help. Can anyone PLEASE give advice on how to bring my man to the states? I would truly appreciate it. Would love for him to be here every step of the way. :)

Congratulations on the pregnancy! I assume you got approved? Have you recently been going in AP? All visa's go under necessary AP but it always remains a black hole when it comes to timeframes.

01/13/2016: I-129F filed  07/15/2016: K-1 visa in hand
10/13/2016: Filed AOS + EAD/AP.   07/07/2017: Permanent resident (Conditional)
04/16/2019: Filed ROC  11/17/2020: Approved. (10 yr GC)

There is nothing you can do to speed AP up, you just have to be patient until it is complete, it can take days, weeks and hopefully

not months for you.

NVC Received : some dinkelsberry yehoo in the house of clingons send our petition to the wrong consulate.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

US Entry : Nov. 21, 2014

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

Email &text : May 18, 2015, check cashed May 19,2015, return receipt May 21, 2015 stamped USCIS Lockbox, NOA1 (3x) May 22,2015

Biometrics : June 1, 2015 letter received for appointment June 8, 2015, successful walk-in June 1, 2015

RFE : June 12, 2015 for income not meeting guideline. Income does ( ! ) exceed guideline.

RFE response : June 26, 2015 returned with a boat load full of financial evidence.

UPDATE: July 5, 2015 updated on all 3 cases, RFE received June 30, 2015.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

EAD/AP (renewal) approval Aug 22, 2016, NOA2 received Aug 25, 2016

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Timeline officially updated. no approval. Just Ap. :( was thinking of maybe applying for a visitor visa for him. Thats all I can think of

I was in AP 32 days. Some people have longer it just depends on how fast things clear.

When was yoir interview? And why are you thinking of doing a tourist visa? The requirement level is different.

It will update several times will im states AP.

was thinking of a tourist visa because Ive read about AP and Nigeria. I have not really seen a success story so Im a bit worried. Worried about the tourist visa too. My country is unfortunately one of those red flag countries. I really would prefer him to be here for the baby shower, doctor appointments and birth. Just thinking of doing all of this alone is depressing. So thats where the idea of a B2 visa came from

There is no way he will get a tourist visa with your case pending, he would be denied for immigrant intent. Right now there is really nothing that says he won't be issued the visa soon. Relax and be hopeful.

My husband comes from a high fraud country as well. After becoming pregnant I married while I was still in his country and filed dcf. I couldn't leave him so I stayed and now we're both in America and our daughter is due next month. How far along are you ??

They did not keep his passport. Only a paper asking for even more evidence. Keep in mind we went with emails and call records that dated back to 2009, pictures and a lot more proof. We immediately went to the hotel and emailed even more. No slip was given. Just 'Ap' on the ceac website. I was not allowed in the embassy for the interview, but according to him, the interview went well. Consular saw all the evidence, but wondered "why we took so long to decide to marry".

By the way, thanks to everyone who has replied. Your help is appreciated.

I can imagine wanting to share together but maybe you can video chat during doctor appointments so at least you dont feel alone...

While you wait.

My doctor even had ipads for loan so you could skype with a partner if they were far away or so you could see your baby if they got flown to a far away NICU. Something to think about...
