K1 Visa: What to do after NVC letter?

Hello all,

My fiancée just got our letter from NVC stating our petition will be sent off to Kingston, Jamaica. Being proactive, I went ahead did my criminal records just about a week ago. However I am not sure if i should let them send it to the embassy or I should collect it and send it with other documents that I may receive when the embassy contact me. Also, how can I find exactly where the petition is at this moment in time and what exactly do we need to do at this point?

Keep the Police record when you collect it, its good for 6 mths

and you take it to the interview with other docs on your

checklist you'll recieve

Complete the DS160. The beneficiary should receive packet 3 with the instructions to email the confirmation page and barcode to the embassy.

Can obtain the non impediment from RGD.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful and the link with the instructions gives me a better idea. I have another question. My fiancée is currently trying to boost her savings for the affidavit of support, do they really need to see your savings or its just the income they are interested in?

A form that shows the beneficiary was ever married before and if so, are they clear to marry again. It is obtained from the Registry General. You can google the RGD in Jamaica to see prices.

Jamaica is only concerned about monthly/yearly income. Non-impediment certificate is on the list u got from the link. You get it at the registrar's office.
