Manila Specific Regarding AOS Assets CR1

My co-sponsor backed out. Long story short. I am now counting on bank account, lone house equity, income from a boarder @$650 per month... all well documented.

Actual income documented with IRS short $2K from the 125%.

I hear it is Embassy specific what is accepted. I can only find one experienced individual, handled 200 + cases in Manila. He talked to me for free. He indicates Manila is not difficult with accepting assets including sole property. So he is my sample size of one.

Anyone else?

I know it is so random so has anyone had any off the above assets used to suppliment a weak income below the 125%?

IRS documented Income alone puts me around 115%.+

Bank Account puts me at 125%. (aware of 1/3 rule)+

House Equity 165%+

Boarder/Renter 200%.

I will be showing 115 to 200% depending on how they interpret assets.

Interview Dec. 2016

Gratitude for any reply...thank you.

Like you said they may ask and they may not. For the past year and a half they have mostly not asked for financials. It is hit or miss, but your case I'm pretty sure will go through with not much of a problem but like you said it depends on the CO. Good luck.

When your feeling vulnerable it's really nice hearing from an experienced member. Yes, I have no guarantee. Big thank you for your time.

Depends on the visa type. With the K-1 visa, 2014, the embassy has been sporadic about asking for support evidence (even changed the wording in the instructions letter from should to may). With immigrant visas that is not true. Do pay attention to the wording of the various embassy instructions letters. This is what the immigrant visa instructions letter states:

EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Applicants must provide evidence that they will not become public charges

Most times the embassy will not look at assets. Friends of mine, CR/IR-1 did not have adequate income and tried to use assets, embassy refused to consider the assets and demanded a qualified co-sponsor. Be prepared.

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!

Well I am not going to be prepared as my co-sponsor bailed out but your input is very much useful. I guess I am hoping with a toss of the dice assets are not an issue. Thanks for your time.

I know you are busy and other people have their own issues. Perhaps my final update before the Dec. interview:

I am going to be there. Going to bring the baby (US Citizen Already) to be near his mom while she waits for her turn. I have no idea if I will wait somewhere or be allowed a few seconds with the interviewer. I want the good or bad news directly. It may not be relavant but my income before assets might be shy 10% but I have no rent or mortgage and my wife has a ten year work history, highly employable, perfect English.

I will thank everybody in advance for their time and thank you even more GB.

She is going to be fine. She needs to be confident, answer truthfully and look the CO in the eyes with her answer. Don't volunteer information. It's ok to ask if she has passed the interview, the CO will not mind. Good luck guys. This is one you can do!!
