HI Everyone,

I am wondering what i should do with the time i have between the I-129F NOA1 and NOA2; can i do anything to be better prepared.

Once i get the NOA2 for the I-129, what is the deal with the I-134 the form does not seem difficult. What are the next steps for me and my wife.

Where does the medical exam and police record check etc come into play.

I see a lot on these boards about eh I-130 and I-129F, filing it, NOA stuff like that, but not much about the rest of the process from I-129f NOA2 onwards.

Can any of my learned VJ members enlighten me; thanks.

hi

there is not a whole to do except to wait and have lots of PATIENCE! After your NOA2 it will be sent to NBC formerly the Missouri Service Center. It will generally be there for up to a week and then sent out to the embassy. the embassy will send your spouse the packet with all the instructions. Good Luck with the journey!!

While there are no specific actions required during this time, I would suggest you take the time to read and learn as much about the visa process, so you'll know what preparations are coming. Often, preparation is the key to a successful interview and eventual permanent residence for your spouse. Also the more you learn, the more you are able to help others. Participation here can help you pass the time too.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Good advice given here. I started reading up on here and at the USCIS website about the next stage. The guides for the K1 visa helped very much too. My main thing I did was just getting a good idea of what I needed to start trying to assemble and letting my fiance know what he needed to try to start getting together as well. I think it gives you a sense of certainty, while going through a sometimes uncertain process.

OK, I just went through this as a petitioner and was given the deep cavity search. Here's my take on it. I suggest you start getting your supporting documentation together. By this I mean start contacting your Human Resources coordinator about an employment letter( stating the date you were employed, position and salary). Obtain all evidence of insurance benefits you are enrolled in...from the insurance companies. If you have property, gather the property deed and a current appraisal. Start stacking up 1 years worth of your bank statements and get certificates of any stocks you own. These documents should satisfy the support requirements. You should also begin filling out the DS-230, DS-156 and DS-156K..

I believe you need to read this site more to find your answers. The forms you will need appear here if you look some you will find them. It would be a good idea to practice them & I think you will learn as I did more about the process . Look at the flow charts avalible here, they are very helpful to understand the processes.

I am not an expert but in about your same situation.

I have prepared all the documents they will ask for in the Packet 3. Medical & Police info is part of that Packet. I have read that this will save time later . The most important document is the support papers.

The Embassy will send the packet to the person immigrating. Normaly they expect that person to then have to send it to their sponser for the input of info & signatures. If you can do this early I would suggest you do it.

I have all info ready & hope to explain that at the right time & see if they will approve the interview date based on our being ready earlier than most people.

Good luck

I think that the most difficult task that I have had to do between NOA1 and NOA2 is to not compare my journey with anyone else's. I look and see some K-1's that just fly through Vermont Service Center and I have to quickly look away. I know that insha Allah I am lucky to be going through VSC in the first place but then I always want to compare to someone who's had it done quicker and wonder why I'm not one of "those" people.

Still hasn't been too long for me so I can't complain but each day that I don't see another touch is kind of agonizing the first hour that I look on the site, then I just try not to think about it anymore.

As far as the other stuff, i.e. paperwork, etc. I haven't even looked at any of that. Maybe that will get my mind off of things for a while. I don't see any of it taking too long though since my taxes are all online as are my bank statements.

12/28/06 - got married :)

02/05/07 - I-130 NOA1

02/21/07 - I-129 NOA1

04/09/07 - I-130 and I-129F approval email sent!!!!

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

06/26/07 - Packet 3 SUBMITTED FINALLY!!!!

07/07/07 - Received pkt 4

07/22/07 - interview consular never bothered to show up for work.

07/29/07 - interview.
