Extension of K1 Visa Expiration?

You're talking about the K-1 visa itself, and not the I-94 upon entry, right?

I don't think it's possible, as the visa I believe expires the same day your medical expires.

03-19-2021: Officially an American Citizen 🇺🇸 Entire journey from initial K-1 Visa filing to Naturalization took 5 years, 8 days.

You need to contact the embassy and inquire about this. Depending on the circumstances/reasons for the desired extension, that might be why they would approve/deny it.

If they were to approve an extension, the beneficiary probably would have to do another medical.....

I am not saying they can't/won't approve an extension; but I wouldn't get too hopeful either.

Hope all works out to the best for you.

Thanks Ben&Zian. Maybe I'll send an email to the Embassy and inquire.

LionessDeon: The interview was very short. Maybe three questions and they were all about our trip to Palawan together. The out-come was approval. She has a K1 in hand now.

Yep. Wondering about the K1 for entry. Wondering if I can get a 4-5 month extension on it. If not.. not terribly worried. Still super happy that we got it!

Extension.. no. Issuing another visa .. Depends on the situation to a degree but I wouldn't count on anything, if they did agree it would require another medical, and maybe another visa fee. I only know of one case where they got a 2nd visa.

You should be addressing your question to the embassy.

Here is the contact info for USEM

Sounds like it's more pain than it's worth. Thanks for the info. We'll probably just go with plan A... which is to enter before the 28th of Feb and then see where life takes us from there.
