I know, this is from the DailyCaller, so most will not find it credible, but it certainly is believable. The interesting thing is that they restrict their light pigmented memebers to the role of "Police People". Based on what has happened over the past couple of years, that really doesn't seem wise, but I guess they are much smarter than I am.

Hundreds of students at the University of Michigan (UM) joined a national campus walkout Wednesday, demanding their school fight racism and serve as a sanctuary campus for illegal immigrants.

Ironically, while demonstrating against racism, the protesters engaged in racial segregation themselves by restricting the roles white students were allowed to play in the protest.

Dozens of campuses around the U.S. are holding Wednesday walk-outs in support of illegal immigrants following President-elect Donald Trumps victory. The protest organized by UMs Students4Justice group was affiliated with the others, but had a notable quirk: A guideline to the protest explicitly tells white people they arent allowed in most protest roles.

The guide, currently posted publicly as a Google Doc, explains where protesters will assemble, suggests what chants to use (those focused on Trump are discouraged, to keep the focus on racism instead of the recent election), and includes a set of roles protesters will have to fill. Organizers warned potential white participants that only a handful of roles would be available to them:

yaknow, i think you summed up the entire election with this right here:

so most will not find it credible, but it certainly is believable.

profound, actually.

eta: concerning the article, pretty sure white people that support the cause are willing to support in whatever capacity they are most needed. imo, the 'segregating protest' slant is just that. slant.

You would think mid-terms, but I think most of the inclusive Left Wing educators gave them a pass on those. Heck, I heard Oberlin students are proposing to do away with all grades below a B or so. Like I said in a previous post, college and university students will expect a participation diploma and expect to get jobs with things like "Police People", "Scout" and "Chant Coordinator" on their resumes.

No, I cannot. I cannot imagine some of these people's reactions when it's time to pay the rent but there is not enough money in the bank...

when it's consensual and for a specific event/goal? we do it in tv/movies all the time.

Let's put it a different way:

If the goal is to end racism, how on earth does it make sense to relegate people with specific tasks based solely on their skin color?

What they're saying, loud and clear, is 'skin color' defines you.

These people don't care about 'ending racism.' They care about forcing people into specific groups based on skin color and background, and then equal out differences between these groups through social engineering. They care about engineering specific identities for people based on skin color. There are 'the blacks' who think a certain way and are oppressed a certain way. There are 'the Latinos' who think a certain way and are oppressed a certain way. There are the "LGBTQUDWOMWFOJDJ++" who think a certain way and are oppressed a certain way etc. Individualism does not exist. Melting pot is a dirty word.

It's been evident throughout this presidential campaign. "Latinos hate Trump." When it turns out a third of Latinos voted for Trump they're not "real" Latinos. Ben Carson? A race traitor. I have no sympathy for the far right. But I don't go the Stormfront route of relegating opinions and traits based on skin color.

Divide into racial hierarchy of oppression, redistribute, equal out accordingly.

For some here on VJ, "fine by me" when it is convenient for them.

No, I cannot. I cannot imagine some of these people's reactions when it's time to pay the rent but there is not enough money in the bank...

Should have majored in physics.

Exit Polling Data Refutes Claims that Hispanic Voters Punish Candidates Who Support Immigration Enforcement

PRESS RELEASE | NOVEMBER 17, 2016

“The conventional wisdom that advocating enforcement of immigration laws is a deal-killer for Hispanic voters is just plain wrong.”

—dan stein, president of fair

(Washington, D.C.) Immigration policy is less important to Hispanic voters than it is to the electorate generally when it comes to making voting decisions. Moreover, a substantial majority of Hispanic voters approved of immigration positions advocated by Donald Trump during his presidential campaign. These are among the key findings of an exit poll conducted by Zogby Analytics on behalf of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

The exit poll, conducted on Nov. 9-10, torpedoes dire warnings by Hispanic activist groups, open borders advocates, and political consultants that immigration is the determining factor for Hispanic voters and that this group of voters will not support candidates who favor immigration enforcement over amnesty.

“The conventional wisdom that advocating enforcement of immigration laws is a deal-killer for Hispanic voters is just plain wrong. It is a myth perpetuated by groups and individuals with a political stake in maintaining mass immigration and by a bunch of high-price political consultants who continually misread public sentiment,” said Dan Stein president of FAIR.

Among the key findings of the Zogby Analytics exit poll:

  • 77.4 percent of Hispanic voters rated immigration as important or somewhat important in their voting decisions. That figure is substantially less than the 84.6 percent of all voters who said it was important or somewhat important, and a full ten percentage points less than the 87.8 percent of white voters who rated immigration as important or somewhat important.
  • 58.5 percent of Hispanic voters said they “support Donald Trump’s immigration policies,” including many who said they do not like him as a person. Conversely, only 32.9 percent of Hispanic voters said they “support Hillary Clinton’s immigration policies,” even though a much greater percentage liked her as a person. Among all voters, 54.7 percent supported Trump’s immigration policies compared with 38.4 percent who supported Clinton’s.
  • 36.3 percent of Hispanic voters believe current immigration enforcement is too lax, double the number, 18.3 percent, who say it is too strict, and more than ten percentage points higher than those who think it is about right, 25.5 percent.

Almost 4 in ten Hispanic voters favor “enforcing and strengthening laws against illegal immigration to encourage them to return home,” with 48.8 percent support allowing current illegal aliens “to become legal and remain in the country.”

“Donald Trump may not have won the Hispanic vote in this election, but clearly it was not because of his views on immigration,” observed Stein. “If anything, his positions on immigration seem to have helped him among Hispanic voters whose economic circumstances are being harmed by excessive immigration and unchecked illegal immigration.”

Other polling data, particularly the findings of the Pew Hispanic Center, confirm that bread-and-butter issues like jobs, quality education, health care, and other issues are the primary motivating factors for Hispanic voters.

“As Republicans lay out their immigration agenda for the next two years in control of the White House and both houses of Congress, they would be well-advised to ignore the self-anointed spokespeople and the political consulting class. Enforcing immigration laws, securing our borders, protecting American workers and taxpayers, and setting reasonable limits on immigration enjoy broad public support, including large numbers of Hispanic Americans who stand to benefit economically from the policies President-elect Trump ran on,” concluded Stein.

That's because when journalists and pundits talk about Hispanics, they assume Hispanics are all related to someone who's here illegally, or that Hispanics are some sort of monolithic group of people who think the same and have the same concerns and life situations. Or worse, that somehow Hispanic-Americans are somehow fundamentally differently wired than i.e. Italian or Irish Americans. Yes, for a second generation Mexican-American in southern Arizona or Nevada, immigration might be a highly relevant issue.

For a Puerto Rican born with U.S. citizenship, it's irrelevant. For a Cuban-American in Miami, it's irrelevant. For a 4th generation Mexican-American, it's irrelevant.

This is why I want to pull my hair out every time I hear Jorge Ramos go "Latinos want immigration reform."

It's like saying "white people want lower taxes."
