Getting a SSN for K1

Hello,

Due to some bad advice, my wife and I failed to get a SSN for her in a timely fashion, her I-94 is now expired and we are still waiting on her AOS as we just got an RFE as well. Can she get still get an SSN or does she have to wait until she gets her green card?

Did you apply for EAD as part of AOS? If she gets an EAD she can get the SSN using that. If not you can only get only when she gets the Green Card.
