NSO Birth certificiate issue

My fiance got her NSO Birth certificate , and it is hand written, also it appears someone wrote over to make it appears an S, as her name is Analisa. Her birth certificate is typed and shows her correct name. Her civil birth certificate looks clearer and is also hand written but doesn't have that look on the NSO. My question is would the embassy give issue with simple marking on the NSO birth certificate? The civil birth certificate looks exactly the same, but no marking like in the NSO

Did they make a mistake? My partner got his and had no such hand writing or corrections.. I might inquire to them about it and ask for a new copy.

Yes I believe they made a mistake, on the NSO copy. They said it can take up to 2 months for a new copy. But her interview is scheduled for December 1.

2 months?! What?! Are you ordering online? We ordered a copy of his birth certificate (3 copies) and his CENOMAR and it was delivered in like 14 days.

If... if you cannot get a new copy in time. Definately explain the issue when your fiance presents the birth certificate. Maybe the embassy is used to seeing these "corrections" and will accept it.

Otherwise, worst case is, you order it now, and at the interview they request you to supply a new copy. But you will have already ordered it so you will be a head of the game so to say.

well, she's worried about the NSO copies might be still messed up, if we re-order will it come with the the same mistake ?

That is interesting. Let me try to ask my partner(the Filipino) and see if he has seen that before. Might be awhile...time difference you know.

Maybe some of the other senior Philippines members have come across this type of thing.

Best case again at this point is go to the interview with your copy, because also your fiance has the passport to show, so confirmation everything is correct. Maybe they are familiar/used to this type of mistake/correction.

Worst case, they request a new copy after the interview....

I'll see if I can get an answer from my partner.

Thanks for any advice, I believe the term she said they used her original birth certificate at the NSO was altered. Do you think this would cause any issues with her medical ?

Hi, even if you ask for another copy you will still get the same one as you currently have. From what I can see, the person who wrote her name in the form wrote is as Analiza instead of Analisa in which the preson who reported the birth corrected him/her on how they want it to be spelled. NSO basically just "scanned" the original that they have that they received from the local registrar many years back. I'm curious though about the civil birth certificate. Can you take a snap as well? Just so you know, I have 3 different looks of my birth certificate. :D

And BTW NSO issued birth certificate is needed when we need to apply for a passport, did she get the same type then?

She just renew her passport back in Jun or July, I'll ask her if they required that or if she used the same NSO before or maybe she didn't see it before.

Is it something like a handwritten thing too?

I'm currently looking at my birth certificates to check on what could be the difference/s. So the one from the NSO is signed by the resident physician, informant (my father), the clerk and somebody from the local civil registrar, my father and mother, and 2 other people whom I can't make out coz it's not that clear. The one from the civil registrar is basically same except that it's not signed.

What name is she using in her passport?

I say just go through the interview, then, if the CO would advise you to have it corrected or what, work from there...
