K1 Visa Charged, not full amount?

Hello, I recently sent off the K1 Visa, and I have yet to get an email notification. However, today, there was a new charge in my bank account, for $30 and it says "USCIS Dallas Payment."

Maybe it's because I had an emergency and had spent some of the K1 visa money, but within the next few hours I should have enough again.

But I was just wondering because I haven't received an email or anything yet, or a letter in the mail even.

When did u send it? Did u send a personal check? I highly doubt a $30 charge is for the petition. That fee is $340.

If you spent into the K1 visa money and you didn't have enough when they tried to run the check, the 30$ was probably a bounced check fee. They aren't going to keep running your check, you needed to have enough in your account when they ran it.

If you spent into the K1 visa money and you didn't have enough when they tried to run the check, the 30$ was probably a bounced check fee. They aren't going to keep running your check, you needed to have enough in your account when they ran it.

So, are they going to send it back to me? Or would I have to call anyone telling them what happened?

Potentially they would send it back.

I doubt they would cash a check for a partial amount jsut to send an RFE. Generally if payment is not made it will get returned I believe.

If the $30 was a bank fee for over draft, then check again and see if they withdrew the $340.

Usually the feee would come out with the over draft. If his bank charges a bounced check fee, meaning they didn't take the money but they're charging him as punishment for writing bad checks, that's prolly what is on his account right now.

That is possible. If there is no over draft coverage.

Petition most likely would be returned for lack of payment.

Question was the thirty dollar charge applied today? If so the bank may just pay the $340 and charge you and overdraft fee but they may just have not updated your account as yet. Some banks re- run the check twice to try to give the account holder time to deposit the money in the account. So if you already deposit within 24 hours your bank should have paid it for you and charge whatever fee.

True, the full amount may be charged within 1-2 business days.

If not, OP, don't worrry, the petition will be returned and you just add a new payment in and resend it.
