Timeline

Hi every one, am currently enrolled in an MBA program was suppose to graduate this December but due to some prerequisite courses I will be graduating may 2017, my visa expired few days ago (Nov 12) but I will like to go home for the Christmas holiday. I have applied for a traveling 120, I have a status letter, transcript and I have also registered for January 2017 classes I also have a program extension i20 but my fear is travling to Nigeria with expired visa although my plan is to renew so that I will be able to come back in January .

Hi every1, am an MBA student I have all the necessary documents to travel to Nigeria for Christmas but my visa expired few days ago (now 12) I have applied for an extention and it has been granted I will be graduating may 2017, my fear now is going to Nigeria wt expired f1visa although my intention is to renew so that I will be able to come back in January.

Timeline

I believe you wouldn't have issue travelling back with the expired visa. But you must renew the visa before you can be allowed back in with your I20. The best thing is to apply for renewal once you get back to your country. You shouldnt have any issue with the renewal of you are in good standing with your academics. Make sure you go to the interview with a copy of official transcript and your updated I20 from your school.
