How far out can a USC can go in the embassy if not petitioner

I have a question. My mother-in-law's case is going to have interview soon and I am still in Pakistan, however I was thinking of going along with her for moral support. I didn't sponsor her, my sister-in-law did. So my question is that how far can a USC go in the embassy if we are not the petitioner?

thanks in advance

Not sure if it's different in Pakistan, but in the Bahamas I have seen people bring people with them into the embassy waiting room (in the Bahamas its just one big waiting room with booths, you generally go no further unless you need to be questioned privately). Not sure if this helps since it's a completely different embassy but it wouldn't hurt to try. If you are not allowed in then security will just ask you to wait outside.

  • On Oct 13th AOS status was updated to say that a notice was returned due to post office being unable to deliver it. Tier two told me that it was biometrics or NOA1 (even though I had received both before this date).

  • A few weeks later I received a notice dated Nov 10th, in regards to my call about the Oct 13th notice. The new notice said that there were no RFE's or withholding on my case. So still not sure what this Oct 13th notice was about.

  • Received a letter from a NY office on Dec 23rd (dated Dec 10) stating that my medical was over 1 year old. (At this point my medical was only 7 months old)

  • Teir two submitted an internal service request to which I got a response telling me that I need to respond to RFE ASAP

  • Submitted another service request on 1/6/17. To which I got a response on 1/19/17 stating that my case was pending and is outside of processing time (no mention of RFE)

i am not sure either if the process can be same or not. I know that they don't allow anyone else in if they are not USC. My question is whether I can go all the way in. I have seen fairly amount of people waiting outside the embassy in cold while their respected loved one is inside. I will try but I wanted to know from people if we have no business in the embassy will they allow us or not.

You can enter with her in the embassy but you have to wait in the waiting room. You cannot be with her at the time of the interview. Only spouses are allowed

I am aware that I cannot go upto the window with her, only petitioners are allowed. But I just wanted confirm that I can enter the embassy with my US passport just to give her moral support.

They ask specifically if you are the petitioner, if you are not the petitioner you will not be allowed inside the embassy

Only the petitioner is allowed

Unlikely.. only USC spouse petitioners allowed inside. Carry tea in a thermos to beat the cold.
