Can I travel on a Cruise with AP?

Hi All,

I'm adjusting my status from F1 visa. Planning to get on a cruise trip with my spouse next month to couple islands in caribbean. I already had my EAD/AP comb card. Will I be able to re-enter the U.S.? I've heard people saying that the AP has to be use for urgent/family visit reasons only.

You can use AP to enter the US. As a Chinese citizen, you will need the appropriate visitor visas to visit those Carribean islands. If you don't, the cruise ship will not let you board and you will lose your money because it is your responsibility to have the appropriate visas.

Thank you for your answer. I have a Chinese friend who also travelled on a Cruise last year. He seemed had no issues with VISAs but he's a green card holder. Do you think that's because he has Green Card?

No - it's because he didn't need a visa.

Make sure of the visa requirements of your cruise before you sign up.

Some Caribbean nations offer visa-free travel to US green card holders only.. that benefit does not yet apply to you. Check before you board.
