It's not just about being against racism, which I am, and we all should strive to be. But as I have said here before, racism exists everywhere. In every country & culture. Even between regions in the same country, with people of the same skin color. Racism in the US is easy to point out; often is as clear a black and white, pun intended. But it's not JUST about color everywhere. Until we as humans evolve enough (doubtful) to not fear changes or differences, it shall remain. As responsible adults, we should do everything we can to remove this fear, and the associated strereotype(s) that come with it.

I may be the only one here, but I didn't see calling Michelle an ape as racist. Disrespectful and tacky, yes. I wouldn't have seen calling Barack a zebra as racist. Nor calling Trump a baboon. Nor someone calling me a donkey. Now throw out the N word or the H word, and I would agree. I'm not saying I am right, just saying I didn't see it before. Now that you mention the zoo thing, I can see how one might take offense. I didn't read the whole story about the kid to see if it was racist in nature (given the times, I would assume so), or just inhumane treatment of a human. (Note: I also think the treatment of bearded circus ladies and otherwise abnormal people cruel and unusual punishment as well, regardless of their skin color, but I digress).

I may come to change my mind on the whole animal issue. We shall see. When I have seen blacks calling Michelle things like uppity "B" and other rude things because she is in the WH and they are not, I see that as racist. Maybe I am the only one, IDK.

I accept that you are against racism. Getting past racism and ignoring racism are two different things. If you think it will go away just because we would all like it to, then I think you've missed something.

No one said it's OK. We said it's not racism. Not in the examples you gave.

If a person of another race called white people monkeys with the belief that all white people were inferior to their own race, or in the context that their race had racially degraded white people in the past or treated white people like animals, then obviously that would be racism against white people.

It's not that hard. You are getting defensive about something you don't need to be, and in doing so, you can't see the forest for the trees.
