So I've read every guide but they have scant details about what happens now other than I'll get an interview date in 1 month.

I keep seeing people talk about scan date which is new to me. My packet arrived at NVC on 11/10. Will they send an email to acknowledge they have received it? Is this the scan date?

Do I have to call to receive this? What happens after that?

Will constantly calling them help move things along or should I just wait to hear from them?

Thanks.

You will most likely have to call to get your scan date. I certainly did not get any sort of correspondence to confirm they received our AOS/IV documents. The scan date will probably be a few days after the delivery date. Calling them constantly probably won't accomplish anything, but you do need to keep on top of things with them to get updates.

As for an interview date in a month, that's possibly a bit optimistic. The document review process alone may still take a 6-8 weeks based on what people are experiencing right now.

No. Even the scan date isn't really important to know. You don't have to call at all ( and it won't do any good) until it's been six weeks from the date your documents were received (which may be your scan date, or it may be a day or two later). You might hear something before six weeks, either a checklist or an acceptance, but otherwise they'll just tell you "wait six weeks". Save yourself the aggravation and keep the phone lines clear. They don't use the term "scan date," though--that's just the date someone entered your documents.
