emergency 2 weeks from now???

it is possible to have scheduled unexpected events:

- a sibling's wedding that you didn't know about until 4 months ago

- a family member's memorial service

- a parent's scheduled surgery requiring full-time help

who knows. Plenty of possibilities. Perhaps unexpected obligation to return home would have been more precise, but please don't attack someone just for wording requests a bit awkwardly.

This happened exactly to my cousin in Dallas not so long ago, also came in with a work visa, and medical expired when she was interviewed. She got an RFE for a new medical, and was obviously upset that she had to pay for it yet again. She took about a month and a half to get it done, but as soon as she sent it in her status changed to card processing. It didn't take long to get her GC after that.

I agree with the Info Pass, if your AP is expired you will need something to be able to leave the country and return without problem. Good luck!

DrEllaNj, thank you for the insight. Indeed a family member is very sick. Thank you for the positive reply.

Alebrije, that was actually the first time I heard from someone having the same issue. Good to know it didn't take her forever to get the card. Still hoping my status is changing in the meantime.

Thank you!

Hi,

We had our interview for adjustment of status on 10/21 after 13 month waiting.

At the interview the officer said my medical is expired and I have to do it again and send back. He said the rest is pretty straight forward and also my I130 was already approved.

They received my updated I693 on 11/03 and are still reviewing it. Does anyone have similar experience and can tell me how long you had to wait to finall get your green card?

Thank you.

13 months, UGH, we are in for a long wait........

Hope you get your card soon, Houston office is a mess!

UPDATE: my online status just changed to "case was approved".

I can either get a stamp in my passport now or might be lucky enough to receive the gc within the next 2 weeks.

Great news, congrats! Get the stamp now and take care of business back in the homeland. The GC will wait in the mail when you get back.

Good luck.

Hey Chris,

Congratulations about your approval . I have a similar situation like you. My interview went well last Thursday but my medical exam was expired and I was told to do again and send it back. She said everything looked good but she didn't give me the RFE for that. She gave us a copy of the letter about the conditional residence and approved our I-130 but checking my status online it said "interview was completed my case must be reviewed". My question is Can I send my new Medical exam to the office where i had my interview or have to wait for the RFE by mail before?

Thanks in advance for your answer
