Hannah I know you don't want to be apart but it might be more advantageous to return to the States while you can safely fly. To get equitable health care there you will most likely have to go to a private hospital and most hospitals don't allow you to have your husband in the labor and delivery room with you. Also as a USC you should get assistance with your pregnancy and baby's first year of life will be covered as well with your states Medicaid program. Plus it just makes things easier having your child born here because you have to register with the embassy and your husband must be a part of that process. I am not saying your husband would not help do this but it does happen in MENA countries. Have you talked with your doctors about what you want and are they willing to comply? Also god forbid there was a high risk pregnancy you have more options here than there and it could be valid reason to expedite your process. I wish you all the best on your journey!

In some extreme cases pregnancy can be an reason. I have a friend who was pregnant and because of the several cases of Zika Virus in Brazil and the associated birth defects, she had her request approved.

DR expedited my husband application for that same reason. The whole process was a little over 2 months but I also spent my entire pregnancy in my husband country which wasn't easy at all. It's good to be home lol

I love my husband ?‍?‍?

How far along are you? According to your timeline it looks like you are moving right along in NVC, however, I am not sure how long it takes to get an interview scheduled at your embassy. I am sorry your expedite request was denied, but pregnancy is a delicate thing and please reduce your stress level and focus on where you are in the process and making sure all your paperwork is correct so that you won't have any RFE's and can continue to move forward.

Bottom line is they denied and now, you have called it to the attention of the embassy that you do not have the financial means to support the husband and new baby

if getting pregnant and asking for a case to be expediated because of it, all would do it

not to be unsupportive but it was not a good idea to say financial hardship to Casa / just the truth

and it is not expensive to have a baby there / i was there when my neice delivered and the family though poor was able to pay the bill before she left the hospital

/not that i think the care is good as no pain blocks / no stictches/ they use hot charcoal to mend the wounds when at home

We sent the expedite request to NVC for the reason of financial hardship and pregnancy. We waited for 20 days and the NVC sent us a message that the Casablanca Embassy denied our request.

We sent all our evidence and we don't understand why they denied us. Other visa journey users were approved for the same reasons as us. Should we reapply and if so, what other evidence should we include? Or would it be a good idea to visit the Casablanca Embassy and try to speak to someone in person since there is no phone option and they don't respond to emails.

Past evidence:

- bank balance for both of us

- prescriptions for the pregnancy

- ultrasound photos

- lab test results

Casablanca is a difficult embassy there, and harder to communicate with. As for being expensive there when having a child, I understand, my brother in laws wife is 7 months pregnant, preparing the baby's room, clothes, baby items, prenatal care, and the hospital all cost big bucks, we even sent then a tidy sum to ease their financial matters.

Unless it is a high risk pregnancy, or with other major medical complications, they wont approve the expedite. Then they want solid proof, such as a letter from your physician detailing the matter.

But just the cost of having a child there in Morocco is not cause for an expedite. I hope it all works out for you on your journey.

I think she is referring to having to pay out of pocket. I am sure in the states she has insurance.

She can also have a co sponsor so she will be fine to bring him.

I remember your posts from OP's original expedite thread. Not really sure where you get the superiority to criticize someone else for not being supportive.

OP, do you have insurance at all in the US? From your posts it seems like you have been out of the country for some time. If financials are a big issue as you made them seem with your expedite request then I would start making preparations in case you do need to travel back alone to give birth.

As long as the situation is the same as when you first applied for an expedite request, it's unlikely that you will receive any other outcome if you try again. While some people do get expedites granted for high-risk pregnancies, the far-and-away consensus is that pregnancy alone is not a valid expedite reasons. Those who have been approved on pregnancy alone are extreme minorities and you should not expect that just because it worked for them it will work for you.

It's not just an expedite for pregnancy. It's also for financial hardship. We don't have enough money to pay for doctor visits let alone a birth here. If a medical emergency occurs we have no way to cover it. If we were in the states family would be able to assist us.

And your family can't just wire some money to you?

I requested an expedite with Casablanca on high risk pregnancy with a few DR notes and was not expedited either. I was having 4 DR appointments a week and on bed rest for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. If you are the American citizen and pregnant... come to USA and have the baby.

Depending on why you are on best rest, many OB's would not recommend you fly. The shortest flight between Morocco and the US would be what, maybe 8 hours to Florida? Just a guess. Would hate to be on a plane and in labour at any gestational age.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. I just flew 35 weeks pregnant and that wasn't easy for me and I wasn't on bed rest or any complications a perfectly normal pregnancy but sitting on a plane flying over the Atlantic Ocean was he** and never again will fly pregnant again even though my flight was less than 4 hours (my connecting flight I slept)

Op if you decide to stay and must fly late in your pregnancy I would recommend delta. I hope everything works out for you. I know how hard it is to be pregnant and not wanting to leave your husband thankfully we made it back in time

I love my husband ?‍?‍?
