Returning back to country for another marriage ceremony

When my fiancee arrives in the US for marriage within the 90 days, is it possible for us to go back to Ghana a few months after for a big wedding ceremony with friends and family?

Will she be allowed to go back and forth shortly after just arriving in the US?

Not until she has her advance parole. You can file for this only after marriage when you file for adjustment of status and it will take around 90 days.

So it won't be immediately possible and I wouldn't make any travel plans until she has advance parole confirmed.

Please read the guides on this site using a computer to understand what you need to do after you fiance arrives in the US.

After you are married you need to file to adjust status, which will lead to your fiance becoming a permanent resident. Along with the adjustment of status, you can apply for advance parole and work authorization. Advance parole and work authorization will give your then wife an EAD/AP card, which will allow her to leave the US and return to the US without abandoning the adjustment of status.

If your then wife leaves the US before having the EAD/AP in hand (typically about 90 days to receive after you send in the AoS), then she will need to remain in her country and you will need to apply for a CR1 visa. Timeline for a CR1 is about a year.

Advance parole is filed in conjunction with the AOS and EAD.

It allows your fiance the ability to leave the US and allows her re-entry. Without it she would be denied entry back into the US.

and by the time frame you say of December 2017 it is possible depending on what stage you're at in your process now. Just have to make sure to have the AOS and AP.

Just do not make any set plans until you have the AP! Always important to remember.
