I like the time it has taken and has given me time to get ready for his arrival. Soon Come and I am better than I deserve with this.

Would the have nots really complain if it improved their processing times also? Because at $5,000 a pop for expedited service, they could hire more adjudicators. I personally think it's better than a general fee increase, because people that don't have the ability to pay so much can still get theirs done without having to pay anything more. Personally, I'm in favor of anything that will speed up the process. Let Bill Gates or someone like that bring someone in in 5 minutes for $1,000,000 and I'll fully support it. lol They say they need more money to be able to hire more people I don't care how they get it. Personally I think families should have priority over business anyway...it's messed up the priorities they have.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

Furthermore, another thought I had on this. lol I'm so desperate to get my wife here that if I could get her here on a tourist visa right now and pay some sort of bond to insure she returns to her country I'd even do that. I mean personally, if you've properly filed all the paperwork for an immigrant visa I don't see the harm in letting them come to the USA and wait it out here. I mean we've got like 10,000,000+ people here right now that have done no paperwork...what's the worst that's going to happen? Ok...done with my rant...I feel better. lol

My husband came from Jamaica where "expedited" would probably not make much difference. Jamaica has it's own pace.

Tell me about it.....it's the same slow thing in Belize. The dang motto of the island I live on is "Go Slow." And if you are caught walking down the street a little too quickly, you are reminded of the motto by many. Sometimes I really have to get somewhere, and let me tell you, I'm really not walking all that fast! :P

LL, what is fast enough?

Not long ago, it took 12 months to get an approved I-129f for a fiance visa. People howled!

Not too long after that, it took 8 months. Hellraising!

Then it gets down to 6 months. Injustice!

Now, if it's not done in 2 weeks: Freak Out!

If it took one day, that would be one day too many for most folk. ;)

Yes, that drives me crazy how they don't sweat barely at all unless maybe some very hard labor is going on.

Or there's this line that I'll get: "Hey Erin, I thought you were a Texan, not Russian!" You know like Rushin'...so stupid

I personally think it is allowed because an employee in the country means federal tax, state tax, social security and medicaid deductions from a paycheck.

Nahh, its allowed so they can make some cash. We have at least 20 folks who were rushed in from India to prop up a failing Cognizant project, all on expedited visas, all taking what should be American jobs anyways. The government got their 20 thousand. They will need it to pay welfare for all the folks out on the street.

Hey, I say if you can pay then pay. If you can't pay then you would or could find a way to pay. It's not discrimination, because pretty soon, nobody is going to be able to pay when the fees increase. Then that would be a national headline story for sure.
If you have read my other forum topic, you will see that I mentioned something about Employment Based Petitions having the option of Accelerated Processing. I don't think its wrong, HOWEVER, I strongly believe other people in the immigration process should be given the same option. I personally think it is allowed because an employee in the country means federal tax, state tax, social security and medicaid deductions from a paycheck. Maybe I am wrong. And I know it's a dumb question, but would you be willing to pay extra to bring your family here faster? I am sure anyone would. I usually don't open my mouth about a lot of things, but this is something that is seriously hitting a nerve. This could be a national headline story. Let me know what you think.

This question gets posted every few weeks. Obviously anyone who could afford it would pay for premium processing. Then there would be protests about discrimination against those who could not pay. It's not a national headline story by any means.

I agree, if you can pay....PAY. Why not?? If you really want your family here....guaranteed you will find the way to pay. It's only expedited service, it is not discrimination. Poor people like rich people both have the same opportunity, just one is faster than the other....the doors are wide open either way. Yes it would be unfortunate if the person couldnt afford it....but lets be honest and blunt here, if they cant afford expedited service, how are they going to sponsor and support a family member?? I know i'm going to get flamed for this, but its the truth....in my eyes at least.

I don't think the family-based division should prioritize re-uniting families based on their ability to pay.

Especially since 'ability to pay' doesn't track on to 'real and legitimate relationship' but 'found an American sugar daddy/momma.' I think the risk of fraud jumps through the roof.

Lets see here:

1. Create two classes of filers based purely on economic means

2. Public relations nightmare based on number 1. Should money determine who family is more important? Giving a case an precedence over another case always opens up questions of fairness.

3. You would have filers suing when their case didn't go through fast enough because it was help but by something specific to the case (name checks or whatever).

As nice as it sounds, its a bad idea and it would probably only slow down the process even more.

I am sure companies and big business have the $ and advantage to expedite employment based petitions, but as high as unemployment is in this country they need to quit playin. Then again, that is another topic. However I am being patient, just received my NOA1 for the I-130 which was transferred to CSC. Getting ready to file the I-129F and will be on my knees praying that a miracle occurs. Very happy I found this forum, because its nice to discuss and express the frustrations of waiting for USCIS to get their act together. I will keep those of you who are interested updated with my progress. If anybody is pregnant out there, or have had children, please tell me there is an end to this morning sickness.
