Hello everyone,

So on my last interview for a tourist visa, I said that the purpose of me going to America is because my back then boyfriend's , now fiance's parents had invited me to go and stay there for about 5-6 months as long my visa allows me. The CO had asked me if I was thinking if me and my bf would get married and I said I don't know.. Im still young. At that time me and my fiance hadn't really talked about marriage and I was thinking that it's okay that we hadn't talked about it because I felt like we have time to talk about it whenever he feels ready since I'm still young and I didn't want to ask any pressure on us.I got denied for the tourist visa since they thought I was going there to get married. After some days we came back my fiance asked me if I was ready to get married to him because he felt ready. I couldn't believe it, I said yes, of course. NOW MY CONCERN IS: Do you think the CO will get what I said in a wrong way??

No not at all.

A denial of a tourist visa has no bearing at all on the outcome of K-1 visa.

The only reason it might is if you had misrespresented yourself on the application for the tourist visa, which by sound of it, you were fully honest with what you were going.

We went through same thing, I "invited" my partner over for christmas last year. He was denied because of J-1 home stay rule; but we were fully honest about him coming to see me.

He was just approved for his K-1 visa, and the "denied" tourist visa was never even asked about.

Good luck to you!
