Temporary (<2 year) stay in US (Canadian married to US citizen)

I am a Canadian citizen, married (Canada, 2014) to an American citizen. We recently moved from Canada to the US for my husbands new job. We will be living here until August 2018 at which point we plan on moving back to Canada.

I entered the country on October 1 as a visitor. I am wondering if there are options besides applying for Permanent Residency (forms I-130, I-485), as our tenure here is temporary. It seems as though the process would be easier if my husband were Canadian on a work visa that I could tack myself onto. Instead, we are stuck with the lengthy and involved (and costly) process of applying for PR, when we don't actually intend on living here permanently and I do not intent to pursue citizenship.

While I do have a specialized Masters degree that would make a TN visa possible if I were to find a job, I am currently 7 months pregnant. Obviously this limits my ability to find work. My husbands salary is enough to cover us both. I could look for a job after the baby is born, but at that point I would have overstayed my 6-month visitor period.

My question is this:

Do I as a Canadian citizen, have any option (besides PR) to stay legally (and be free to visit Canada) in the US for 2 years?

unfortunately this is your only option to remain legal in the US otherwise you will have to leave the country every 6 months

Thanks for the replies. I have an additional question.

The instructions for I-487 state on page 2 (who is not eligible to adjust status): You entered the US in transit without a visa.

Could this apply to me? I am in the US and entered (legally) without a visa.
