I'm hoping someone can give my fiancé and I some piece of mind about the length of time someone stays in AP? My fiancé had his interview last Monday and was told he needed one more document; The Certificate of Celibacy. He was to obtain this, its translation, and take both of them and his passport to the Aramex location of his choice. He submitted all of those Thursday morning as soon as the office opened.

Our case on CEAC still says READY for interview. And his account with TravelDocs says nothing at all. So I emailed the embassy to confirm they had received the documents at least. They did confirm they received them, but said "the case is still under administrative review".

Any ideas on what a time table would be for this? Are they getting this visa packet together? This single document is the only reason he was not approved on a spot and I really hope it doesn't mean we'll be waiting for weeks because of it.

Thanks for any insight or info you can provide.

Since they did not keep his passport, email them again and ask specifically if they still have his packet or if it has returned to the US

they asked my friend for an additional document and he found out the case was returned to the US / they did not wait for copy of his financee's IRS papers

this is where his case is

Immigrant Visa Case Number: CSBxxxxxxxxxxxx CSB Case Creation Date: 17-Jun-2014 Status Updated Date: 05-Jun-2015
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

when sent back to the US it is allowed to die and nothing happens / if this is the case you 2 need to marry and file CR 1

I hope you 2 will be ok Incha allah

never heard they asked for Certificate of Celibacy at Casa / hard embassy

They did not keep his passport at the interview, but he had to give it to Aramex when he dropped off the additional document. So they do have his passport right now.

On CEAC we have this:

we are in the same boat but without any missing documents or issuence of 221g. they. My fiance interview was on OCT 25th 2016, the interview was so far so good after 2 hours inside the US embassy in RYD. The VO took his fingerprint and handled a pamphlet to him and told this is your rights in America, then he got interviewed by the CO and made him to oath and took his fingerprint once again. Then he told him get back to the VO. Then the VO said make the payment of the courrier to deliver your passport. My fiance asked him what is the result of the interview he told him congrats, we are going to send your passport when it's ready.

Anywho, the status visa at ceca kept updates from the same day of interview 25th, 27th and 30th to 'READY' consecutively then on OCT 31st the creation date and update date both of them changed to OCT 31st then to 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING' and the status visa went from immigrant to nonimmigrant. Since then there is no update.

We start to get stressed specially since the VO didn't give him any slip of 221g to put the visa status under AP and he kept his passport.

So this morning I emailed the embassy and sent to them:

My name is ....., the petitioner for the above case. I'm wondering if there is any missing documents regarding of my fiance interview which was taken on OCT 25th 2016 after the VO said congrats to him. The Ceca status changed a couple of times to 'READY' then since last OCT 31st stuck at 'Administrative Processing' since then there is no update, without given him any slip of 221g? Is he under AP of 221g? We look forward to hearing from you.

then the embassy answered back this afternoon:

No more documents requested and the case is under administrative processing.

Regards,

AZ

Ohhh myself 32 days...

My husbands interview was 8/19/16 it went right into AP same day and finally came out on 9/25/16.

I had my senator involved I was having mini heart attacks all over this forum.

I made the mistake of purchasing his ticket for 9/11/16 because I believed I would have in hand. Trying to save  that bit me in the butt.

But as they told my senators office some names go by quick visa in hand some take longer.

You should be good as soon as you see date updates even if it stays in AP its a good sign...

i'm sorry to hear what happened to you guys. i bet u know how we r feeling right now. it's so frustrating, we r thinking to wait for the 60 days ti involve the senators. cuz it's weird after they said everything is alright n took his fingerprint, kept his passport and even handle to him his pamphlet of rights in america and said congrats and now taking over 21 days. we understand others took more weeks, months or even years. but the issue is they haven't explained whats wrong they said no docs requested and not given him 221g slip.

however we appreciate ur response and congrats for u guys :)

Mena countries do go through higher scrutiny but its a great sign no slips and that its moving along have you seen date changes?

This is a good sign.

My husbands name is very common so he was checked out with a fine tooth comb.

did it go from administrative processing to ready? If so it should go to issued soon.

No, it's never moved from READY with interview information. I haven't seen it in AP yet and I check a few dozen times a day (because we're not at all obsessed with seeing our fiancés as soon as possible lol). The update status has moved since the day after his interview as well. Not even when they received the one document they wanted.

Well, ur right for some countries. but here for Saudi mostly cases before us max it took from 6 days to 14 days never took longer. even for my fiance he has B1/B2 visa when he applied for it a year ago it's just took 7 days only. it's just i think every case is unique and different!

thnx for ur response guys :)

Hmm. I am sure they will put it in soon. Morocco seems to have been running a little behind with this kind of stuff. There was a man who waited like 2 weeks for his passport and normally it takes a week. They will change it to issued soon =)
