Confused about the NVC process through to Interview

We received an approval of our NOA2 on Nov 8th. Well actually, it shows that the I-129F was approved on the USCIS site, but I still have not received the official letter by mail yet.

My fiancee is in Kiev, Ukraine. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the NVC process is like at this point? Do I need to contact them or will they process our application and forward things along to the U.S. embassy in Kiev on their own?

How long does this usually take?

Also, at what point do we get our case KEV number? And can my fiancee schedule her medical exam and interview as soon as we know our KEV number, or does she need to wait for the official packet from the embassy before scheduling anything?

Thanks

You get your hard copy within 2 weeks. Most threads are saying the NVC is taking the full 6 to 8 weeks to process application. We contacted the Dr. listed for Hamburg about not having our case number yet and they said that we could still schedule the medical exam, to contact them once we have the number in order for them to release the file. Hope this helps

That's scary. On the timelines it's showing about about 1-1.5 months from NOA2 to interview for Ukraine. That's what's confusing me.

Yeah, that sounds about right. But you can always check the site once you have an interview date because people can cancel or reschedule and you can maybe get an earlier date :) Good Luck

Well so the NVC will process the paperwork in 6-8 weeks, and then mail it to the U.S. embassy in Kiev. That will take a week or so to arrive. Then Kiev will review and process things (another 2 weeks or so). Then they will mail out an information packet to my fiancee (that will take a few days).

All total it sounds like about 3 months, but the timelines from NOA2 to interview are suggesting 1-1.5 months.

This is what I'm confused about.

The NCV will "process" your request 6-8 weeks that is including sending the paperwork to the embassy. They send the packet through a carrier so it's only a few days. It shouldn't take 3 months 1to 1.5. As long as you do not have any delays and they request anything else from you.
