Hello everybody :)

i got a question...

i'll move to the states end of march with K1 visa and We wanna have our wedding at the beggining of april.

but my best friends wedding will be in june in italy.

i think it'll take longer as till june to get the AOS, but i don't wanna wait till end of june to move bc i could go 3 month earlier... and i think everybody wanna move as fast as they can.

how long does it takes to get the AOS?

Does somebody know if there is an option to travel while waiting dor AOS?

hi

you might not get the advance parole in time for the wedding, and once you enter, you can't leave without the advance parole or you won't be able to enter the country again. the k1 is a one time entry

even if you filed the adjustment of status packet, the advance parole could take up to 90 days and if you buy the ticket and your advance parole hasn't arrived, you will loose the money because you can't travel

it's a gamble

You apply for advance of parole with your AOS. It takes 60-90 days to receive it. Once you have that you can go travel.

You need one of two things to leave the US after you enter on a K1, a green card or Advanced Parole (AP) which, filed simultaneously, allows you to travel while the green card application is being process. Both take more time than you may have.

AP takes about 60 - 90 days

Green card takes about 6 months.

Note: These times are AFTER you file AOS/AP, NOT after you marry. So if you wait until the beginning of May for file AOS/AP then you won't get the AP until July - August. And this is if everything goes well.

Honestly you should reconsider you plans on going to your bf's wedding or maybe change you wedding date to earlier.
