Hey Everyone..

As you know from the title my Interview will be coming soon (November 17th) and I am super nervous about it.

I got all the paperwork that was requested in the letter that USCIS sent me but I feel I am missing something, as

many people who did the K1 Visa the first interview there was many things missing that was not said in the letter

so I am wondering any advice on what to bring with me that will help with our case that was not mentioned in the

paper they sent me? any help and advice is very much appreciated.

Thank You and Pray for us. (L)

We brought copies of both our complete K1 and AOS submissions. We also brought copies of insurance, utility bills, bank statements, and other items that showed we were in a close relationship. We also brought the photo book from our wedding.

Don't sweat the interview, for most they just go through the 485 information including all the yes/no questions, then they may ask questions about your relationship, and each of your relationships with each other's families. Ours took about 15 minutes. Also, don't be surprised if you don't get approved on the spot, for us we had to wait two days before we got the decision, but when we left the interview, the IO made it fairly clear that there were no issues, just a review by their supervisor was needed.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Good Luck!

Most people who do k1 don't get an interview so I would sweat this and be prepared

Make sure u have everything in order, dress well snd respect the process.. don't be arrogant ect you will be fine!

What country r u from?

The most important evidence is you and your wife - how you act and behave. The first impression many people want to ignore but if you look like a couple and are together you are fine

I was born in Iran and came to Canada when I was one.

I have known my husband i think now for 9 years back then when MSN was a big thing lol

but sadly we didnt have much pics as we aint big pic people I think the most we had pics was

these past 2 years so we can show proof that we are together. I hope they dont deny us

cuz the lack of wedding photos cuz it was just me, my husband and his mom dad an grandmother

since this whole K1 visa, AOS process was just very expensive us and us moving into our

new place. i wonder if showing our plane tickets as well for our trip to see my family in Canada

in december will also show good proof as well.

Nice bit of scaremongering there!

Yes respect the process, if you've got this far I can't see why you wouldn't anyway! Being courteous is about manners not about being called for an interview.

Take all your dicuments from the immigration journey thus far (for comfort / reassurance if nothing else). Then it's about how you have developed your relationship on the financial front since your marriage.

You've been married 11 months now so there should be bills in your name at the same address, phone, utilities. Have you a joint credit card? If so a photocopy of the front of it. Little things like Costco membership cards.... just shows the normality of day to day living.... that's all they want to see, that you are actually a coulple and not strangers to each other.

Breathe and stay as calm as you can, they will understand that the majority of couples in your situation will be apprehensive and they will cut through that to get the info they want / need.

Good luck, you will be posting good news here soon I'm sure.

Ps yes boarding passes of a trip together is another good source ?

Thank you to you both for giving me advice on this , we most things on our names together except my credit card cuz the guy at the bank office would not put his name on it an I am not sure why but his debit card is in both of our names and also our lease, bills ,car insurance and I think that's about it and that I have proof that we work at the same job together and pics from last year thanksgiving, Christmas and random pics here and there with the stuff USCIS told me I should bring. I hope it will be more then enough for them :)

You have plenty, now just attend the interview on the correct date and act like a normal married couple... which will mean quarrelling about your other halfs driving skills whilst he blames your map reading skills haha ?.

That will certainly rubber stamp your approval.

Just act normal, if you are a real couple then it will show. Make sure you know your spouse's full name and birthday, the IO asks about that haha.

Just like what the others said, the officer mostly only asks the YES/NO questions on your I-485. Ours also checked the medical report thoroughly.

Our interview was maybe 20 minutes and the CO was a mix of very serious to friendly/chatty. I imagine by that point they know quite a bit about you and they're looking for inconsistencies. The CO asked my husband more questions about me (the beneficiary) than the other way around. He asked my parents' names, when we saw them last, what I do for work (I was still working remotely for my Canadian company and this question kind of surprised us but we answered honestly) and a discussion about our local neighbourhood. I was nervous but not nearly as nervous as I was for the K1 interview. If you're a genuine couple the AOS interview is a breeze.
