Hi,

So we're getting ready to file for the K1 petition but we need some help to make sure we're on the right track. On question 34a in the application, I shall attach a letter describing how we met and the nature of our relationship. Can you guys tell me if what I wrote is fine, or what I should omit in case something might not be necessary to bring up? Here it is:

"The first time I met with my fiance was at my friend's barbecue that she was having at her house back in July 2015. We started talking and we instantly had a lot of chemistry. He was funny, well spoken, charming and of course very cute. I became attracted to him.

We went on a few dates while he was still in New Jersey and spent some time together. Nothing was official at the time because we were just testing out the relationship and everything was relatively new.

When his student visa was up, he returned back home to Egypt. Our communication increased and our relationship grew a lot stronger despite the distance which still didn't separate us.

I realized I didn't want to be away from him for long. As a result, I went to go and visit him where he resides overseas. It was there that I realized that I was truly in love with this man, and I cannot withstand being far away from him any longer. I stayed with him and his family and I'm glad they finally got a chance to meet me.

He asked me to come live with him in his country and get married so we can finally be together, but I'm too scared to go to a country where I would be a complete stranger to the culture and tradition. I want him to come back here so we could be together and start our future and have a little family together."

What do you guys think?

P.S. we have no proof of us meeting in New Jersey because we still weren't officially together at the time.

The first sentence is all you need. The letter is way to long and involved. Adjudicators are very busy. Short, simple and to the point is all that's necessary. They want facts not feelings.

Simply list the dates of visits like a timelines that easy to quickly see.

"We met in person at a mutual friends BBQ on xx-xx-xxxx. We went on a few dates while he was still in NJ."

Yeah it doesn't need to be that detailed. For me I put the dates of our meetings, and the duration of the time.

To whom it may concern,

I John Doe, met my fiancé Jane Doe on March 1 2015 for the first time in the USA. On September 2015, I traveled to Poland to meet her again, where we spent 21 days together.

Thank you,

John Doe

So what about this:

"I met my fiance for the first time at my friends barbecue in 7/15/2015 in NJ, USA. We went on a few dates together while he was still in the U.S. On December 10, I traveled to Kuwait to meet his family and make our engagement official. I spent 7 days with him"

I think if I were you I'd leave out the part about making the engagement official and just putting "On December 10th, 2015 I traveled to Kuwait and spent 7 days with my fiancé and his family.

Dont forget to put the year on December 10th! Good luck!!

So since we will write that we first met in NJ in question 34a, would they require us to submit proof of when we first met when my fiance was back in the states? Or does the fact that we have proof of meeting physically in Kuwait (pictures, passport stamps, flight tickets) along with messages and call logs will suffice for our petition/K1 application?
