Why won't Hillary denounce violence from her supporters?

You mean as opposed to you, who is not a citizen, and is fearing deportation? Or do you fear racist attacks against yourself? Or are you afraid to leave the house because some guy will grab you by the junk as you walk down the street? Which fear is yours to own, white American woman?

what are you going on about? im not protesting, never said i was. im not afraid, but i understand the very real fear trump has evoked in others. i'm protecting my and my families status quo right now. that might change, considering i have friends and family that i am ready to defend should them good ol boys come tearin stuff up. further, im pretty sure you know my views on immigration and im not sure why you would think i wouldn't want ALL immigrant families to be in the clear and not have to live everyday in fear. that would make me the sort of delusioned, angry sort that voted for grand dragon trump. and im not.

I'll second that thanks to both of them. Serving your country is an honorable thing, anytime. Even more so your cop brother, who I am sure has had a hard time this past year or two. Thanks for him putting his life on the line and listening to all the hate that the ignorant among us spew almost daily, and still answering the call when it comes.

He does.

He is waiting for the new academy to go in so he can get his detective position....but its hard. My brother is also has two small daughter luckily Providence isn't such a high in crime city.

Also doesn't help him he looks Caucasian and not Hispanic.

In the hours and days after Trump being elected, my FB feed has had many stooped things said, like women who are "now afraid to leave the house to go shopping since Trump is in charge". Seriously? What changed overnight? Do they think that they were safe 3 days ago under Obama? That there was no violence in the US? That now that Trump is going to be president, they will be raped on the streets? (Let me answer my own question: YES, there are those wack job people who think just that).

You "understand the very real fear Trump has evoked in others". Sorry, can't get behind that. He got elected, that is all. He has done nothing yet, good or bad, to promote fear among the little people. If you are living in the realm of your IMAGINED fears, then I encourage you to come out of the shack, go to town, and have a burger and fries, and see that the world as you knew it hasn't changed one bit just yet. May it? Let's hope. But not yet. You are safe for another few months still.

Yes, I know your views on immigration, and I happen to disagree with part of it. We have immigration laws that get trampled on regularly. Illegals make their way into the US daily. And no one is trying to rectify that as of the past several years. Obama wants to give them amnesty and a SSN. I say deport them and let them re-apply for entry, like those of us on this forum have done. There is a legal method, and I fully support anyone who does it and succeeds.

Grand dragon Trump... You may not be quite off your rocker yet, but you are certainly rocking pretty hard. Better ease up before you hurt yourself!

you're probably not aware, and if you are aware you probably simply don't believe the instances of bigotry and assault that have skyrocketed since trump was elected. i wouldn't expect you to give credence to those people, considering they are minorities, women, and lgbqt. if there's one thing i've noticed about you lfehfn is your complete inability to see outside your personal bubble. it's cool, i'm not trying to convince you of anything. just wanted to make sure you remembered who you were talking to when you went off on me like i would be championing a us citizens parents possibly falling into the 'deport immediately' category.

you don't have to be afraid and you're not going to have any bumpkins getting riled up and harassing you. not surprised you can't 'get behind' that other people have different experiences, fears, and struggles than you.

does it matter anymore what obama wanted to do? i think now what matters is what the grand dragon is going to do.

the kenyan is on his way out - the grand dragon on his way in! don't worry about me, i've got stamina. :content:

You are correct, I am out of touch when it comes to news and such. I haven't had cable TV in over 15 years, so get all my "news" from FB & VJ. But the only violence I have seen lately are people beating up Trump supporters and riots over him winning. Would gladly read up on the bigotry and assault that has been happening as a result of Trump being elected if you have links to such.

I don't understand the fear mongering that is going around about how it's unsafe for women or lgbt folks to leave the house now. Nothing has changed from a month ago. No one is trying to enact a "see & grab" law for old white men to grope any woman they wish to. Gay marriage is not going away. Cross dressers will still be able to use their bathrooms of choice for the foreseeable future.

I may have a hard time seeing outside my own bubble, but I happen to LIKE my own bubble. It's comfy for now. If it becomes so that I don't like it, I will adjust fire and create a new bubble that works for me. Kind of like we all do. That is human nature. (More of a law of nature I guess, as animals do it too)

You may be willing to jump on the bandwagon for illegal aliens, but I have a hard time doing so, especially now that I know a lot more about what it takes to bring someone here legally. It's hard. It's time consuming. It's trying on the emotions. It's expensive. And... It's the RIGHT way to do it. In a perfect world, there would be a way to allow people to go thru the process of becoming legal without deportation if they have been here for a certain period of time. That would solve the uprooting a family issue. Plus, deporting someone to their home country, with nothing there for them, only so they can come back is a tad pointless. Now, if they have not the means to get here legally, then I say send them back and they have to deal with the consequences. I know it sounds hard, but if I were to move to say Germany, and live illegally for a while, then got caught... I would expect no less than deportation, and perhaps prison. That's a risk you take when you choose to break the law of the land.

Your remark about "any bumpkins getting riled up and harassing me"... Has this happened to you in the past? Do you see it happening to you in the future? Or is it just a blanket statement? You strike me as having a happy family, and not one to go out seeking to break the law, so why would you be getting harassed?

I DO understand that others have fears and problems that I may not be having today. Doesn't mean I haven't had them, or can't understand them even if they never affected me before. At the same time, I also see that some people have unreasonable fears... It has been evidenced right here on VJ, and there are those who love to attack such, telling them to get into their bunker or similar statements.

you're probably not aware, and if you are aware you probably simply don't believe the instances of bigotry and assault that have skyrocketed since trump was elected. i wouldn't expect you to give credence to those people, considering they are minorities, women, and lgbqt. if there's one thing i've noticed about you lfehfn is your complete inability to see outside your personal bubble. it's cool, i'm not trying to convince you of anything. just wanted to make sure you remembered who you were talking to when you went off on me like i would be championing a us citizens parents possibly falling into the 'deport immediately' category.

Well there's the problem. Forget about fb, you can't believe anything posted there. VJ is the only place that is truthful and unbiased for news. VJ should be your first and only choice for news, especially anything political.

As an immigrant obviously fear level is pretty high at the moment.

I did manage a run to COSTCO yesterday and survived.

There is hope.

LOL

As far as the woman thing, yeah, I've seen some on my feed post about how now they are afraid to be females just because Trump won...so I asked my wife if she's noticed any more groping than usual, she said not yet, but she'll be sure to let me know if that changes.
