For Step 5: collect supporting documents for the nvc it says "After you collect your financial forms and supporting financial evidence, you and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect civil documents to support your visa application."

Now I figured that only applied to my husband, who i am sponsoring but my mom kept telling me that it applies to me also. I am probably just reading to much into it but am I too, the sponsor/wife, supposed to send in my birth, police, etc records? i don't think so but i don't wanna screw anything up. Better to ask than guess. Thank you.

Well, the thing is that, you as the petitioner have to fill out the I-864. The financial part is on you. If you are using assets, then you and your husband can put down your assets, which is 3 times the income provided on the I-864P. Then you need to do is to prove that you are a US Citizen by providing a copy of your passport or something. Otherwise, nothing else will be needed of you, like police certificate is only required of him.
