Rescheduled interview, got denial notice

Husband and I had to reschedule green card interview because he was sick. I went into the uscis office, and they assured me it was no problem at all. They told me to send in a letter. I did a few days later, as well as set up an interview for info pass in a few weeks, however, he just received a denial letter saying he needs to leave the country.

What do I do, please help.

it's better to consult with a lawyer but i want you to know that USCIS has some sucky ### rules and they don't listen to anyone, once they decide something it goes their way. but you should consult with a lawyer. how many days does he have ?

We have a lawyer. I'll call her Monday. It says he has 30 days to reopen the case. I called the uscis number and even they said it would be fine. Is it a chance they just sent this and will send another one???? I feel sick. We have a baby. Him being deported would ruin our lives.

Don't freak out. It;s going to be okay. You will either refile or reopen the case. And you have a lawyer. They are not that terrible there, they will not deport him. You have a legitimate case. It's just annoying, all the paperwork and stuff.

You need to consult your lawyer and reopen the case- this has happened before! Uscis tells u iys ok, but it is not ok.

If uscis made it that easy to reschedule an interview it would cause so many problems for them! You now have to reopen a case and cause so many more problems...yes uscis denied you. You need to reopen the case and your lawyer should know this! I would have fired him@@! Of he said it was OK to miss the interview when you could Google what happens if you miss an immigration interview and get all the answers you need.

You were denied the greencard. So now spend 12 months + dealing with this.

I would fire the lawyer that said it was OK to reschedule

Yeah really...uscis does not like to reschedule interviews they will give you a denial notice...not sure why people take these so lightly...it ends up being a huge mess and more legal work to go through in the end..for example opening a new case.

The site may say that but in the end it don't matter to them. It's ur life that they control till u get ur citizenship so in the end if they wanna deny for that reason they will.

I was sick as a dog blowing my nose n all n I made sure I went there n acted like I was healthy and in the end it all worked out cause just rescheduling just puts u at risk of denial.
