Questions about medical/Embassy in Kyiv

Hello!

Our case is now listed as ready according to the CEAC website. The instructions are murky at best on the Kyiv embassy website and information on this page contradicts the embassy website quite often. My questions are as follows:

Once case status says ready the interview can be scheduled? Do the fees and DS-160 need to be completed first? I have not received an email yet, but I also haven't received an email at any step of the process so far even though I submitted the form for electronic communication and listed my email on the I-129f.

My fiancee has scheduled her medical and they absolutely insist that she has to have all vaccinations current. The website specifically says that K-1 visa applicants are not required to be vaccinated. She is having trouble finding these records and might not be able to find them in time.

Thanks for any help!

Don't wait for an email :)

Yes, you need to pay and do the DS-160 before you can schedule the interview

If she's coming on a K-1 visa she does not need vaccines. My fiancé didn't take his vaccination records to the interview and didn't get any done there and it was fine. Although it is way cheaper and easier to get the vaccines done in Ukraine and take the records with you to the medical. My fiancé wanted to get them done during his medical but they don't actually do them at the clinic in Kiev.

Thanks for the replies! She will pay the fees and do the DS-160 this weekend and schedule the interview on monday :)

AS for the vaccinations, we can get them here for free with my insurance so it is not an issue. Just don't want her to get a bunch of shots she didn't need.

My girl's K-1 medical was Friday. To re-iterate, vaccination record not required. The person claiming this probably misunderstood the visa type.

The facility is easy to find. From the street look for the sign and go through the portal to the courtyard. It is on the left.

The medical fee is 5500 Hrvna.

So they did ask for her vaccination records at the medical appt. I don't know why they insisted they needed them. SHe had them with her so not a big deal. Everything went well and she now has her medical clearance.

That's good news! Wishing you good luck on the interview.
