Regarding Syria. I recommend the following any documentation regarding employment paper work, visa paperwork, visa and stamps of arrival and departure. Contact the Syrian Embassy in your country in a letter, email, or visit asking if its possible if they say no then ask for that in writing. Yes, I know what is going on in Syria but just cover all possible means of communication so you can show you did your best to meet this requirement. I am sure given the circumstance they must have some way of dealing with your case without a negative effect. If you don't have an embassy or consulate in your country ask your fiancé to check with their US Embassy. They to might be able to help if no other option.
