Hello fellow VJ bloggers. I need help with my time line. I received my first I-797 Request for Evidence, Wich I carefully read each of the instructions and submitted my response to USCIS with every document asked of me to the letter. they sent me an Email with a confirmation that they received it. It was received on October 17th 2016, it's almost a month and have not heard from them since, what's next or how long does it take them to review those documents in order for my petition to move forward to the next step... please help, thank you !

~~moved to progress reports from process and procedures~

Keep in mind the RFE isn't a stage. It means you didn't submit everything required the first time. Many people never receive a RFE. It can take several months for them to review your documents after receiving them.

it usually take up to 6 months for USCIS to approve your petition. Depending where your case is being forwarded to, you will have quite a bit of time to wait. I know that Texas Service Center is really quick, I have gotten approved in 3 months time, but I also know that Nebraska Service Center is really slow. Some people have waited for almost five and a half months for their approval.
