We endured 1 year of if you like Trump--You wear a tinfoil hat, You are racist, hate women, you are an idiot for thinking he may win, You are a Nazi, etc etc etc to ad nauseum.

It was non stop 10 posts a day with every conceivable fringe link you could find. We heard Rumph and Dumph and were told how he would be the downfall of the Repub party repeatedly. Anyone that supported him was brain damaged, Nazi, sexist, tinfoil hat wearing moron.

Well America spoke and he saved congress and the Senate for the Party. He overcame his own party, The Bush family, Mitt Romney, He won Ohio regardless of Kasich, constant Media Bias, Polls that straight out manufactured results with strong bias, Vocal opposition from the brain dead Hollywood elite and no one gave him a chance. In the end he was right about most of what he said.

So excuse me if I take a few weeks to enjoy pointing out that so many of you were so worng about most everything you said. We took it for a year. Surely you can put on your big boy panties and handle it for a week or so.

I for one am tired of all the whining and violent protesting. People need to get over it and grow up. Republicans were all for the Kenyan until he started breaking the law. I am tired of being called right wing nut job just because I love my country and want to see the flag honored. If folks are so offended they can go back home.

The Kenyan huh? Wonder who you could be?

At least wait until Obama's out of office until you start rewriting history. Republicans were at loggerheads from day one.

Da Kine, I am probably not as in tune with politics as you (pretty much ignore the process except at times like this, or when others point stuff out to me)... But you reference the number of filibusters in the past eight years. Republicans trying to stall Obama for no good reason is one way to look at it. But had you considered that if Obama was trying to put into play a policy that more agreed was good for America, there wouldn't have been a need for said filibusters?

The way you get to determine policy in this country is by winning the mandate of the people. The minority doesn't get to make that decision. If the Republicans wanted to do that, don't throw people like McCain and Palin out there to run for office.

If the Democrats go that route and block much of what Trump wants to do in the next 4 years, you can let me know what you think of the tactic. As I said, IMO, it's a path for losers and I sincerely hope the Democrats don't go about it that way. They lost, they should take their lumps and work on being better next time.

If this story can be believed, the Republicans want to get rid of the filibuster: http://www.salon.com/2016/11/10/after-eight-years-of-using-the-filibuster-against-president-obama-republicans-now-want-to-get-rid-of-it/

I hope the Democrats use it as it was intended, which was to ensure the minority party (parties) had their chance to be heard. It was never meant for someone like Ted Cruz to abuse by reciting the dictionary from A-Z in an attempt to obstruct every government process for 8 years.

The fact that they want to get rid of it now is a de facto admission by the Republicans that they behaved so poorly they actually want to pass a law to stop anyone else from doing it again. My guess is when they realize it will also apply to them at some point down the road, this won't go anywhere.

I hope that Obama is in the same dock with Hillary, maybe we can save money and put them in the same prison.

Okay now you are a reasonable person. You have to admit it is pretty funny that the Republics after the last 8 years now suddenly think it's something that shouldn't stick around.

You could literally take that article, replace "Trump" with "Obama" and replace Governor Walker with some Democratic Governor and it would read almost identically. Please at least concede that?

EDIT:

It's the same issue with the electoral college. I agree ultimately both of them should be gone, neither one is supportive of a democracy. However they are both used by a party when it benefits them, and only when it no longer benefits them does that same part start complaining. Democrats will complain that Hillary won the popular vote, but I'm sure if she won the electoral college and not the popular vote they wouldn't complain.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing that the 'Pubs want to change it NOW. When they are in control.

I agree that the system of delaying could be better. I mean, there needs to be something in there to prevent bad bills from being rapidly pushed thru without conscious thought. But stalling just because you can... Not a good thing. There were some potentially good bills that went the way of the dodo bird the past few years via filibusters.

I know he cannot do it on his first day, but I know Trump will keep his word, He has not lied yet

He's already talking about compromise on Obamacare. A lot of people who are letting their expectations get ahead of reality are going to be disappointed.
