To franklychara,

This is a little complicated but you can argue that that was a mistake once you are interviewed... since you are required to acquire a certificate of singlehood. That's really the only time you can argue it, I think.

God willing, you will get thtough the process without any bias.

God bless.

Oh, BTW, I was the one who received the notice for interview from the consulate. They emailed the notice which included interview instructions, appointment letter, list of medical examiners, and a pamphlet regarding domestic violence/abuse.

I guess, they don't really send appointment letters anymore as post may be unreliable in some areas... so they send emails instead.

This is the letter I received by email:

This is to notify you that we have received your fiancés approved K-1- visa petition. His K-1- visa interview is scheduled for DECEMBER 02, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Find attached his K1 packet and his appointment letter.

He needs to fill out the DS-160 online through the following website: www.travel.state.gov , print out the confirmation of the DS-160 submission, bring it along with all the required documents, and go for his medical exam prior to coming to his visa interview.

Your fiancé must print out this email and bring it to both the panel physician for the medical exam and to the Consulate in order to be admitted for the interview.

We hope the above information will be of assistance to you.

Make sure that his police record and birth certificate were printed and translated within the last 3 months of the interview. All the best!
