How will I and my fiance be informed of the interview date?

Hi everyone,

I know that may have been a stupid question, but I really need answers.

We are applying for k1 visa in morocco.

I have read everywhere that the consulate will email the interview schedule... but when I applied for my fiance's k1, I only provided my email address and did not have option to include his. So this is what confuses me. I know I will be notified through email, but how will he be notified?

It's been 4 months for us and we're very anxious... how long does it really take for the consulate to schedule interviews?

Please, anyone who can help, please give us anwers... thanks so much.

Thread is moved from Off Topic to the Middle East/North Africa regional forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Oh my! It's been sitting at the Embassy for 4 months?! You should have emailed them with your case # asking for the interview time. Email them right away! IVCasablanca@state.gov

Also once they respond you tell him... they won't email both of you.

I emailed the consulate as planned and got a response pretty quick. This is a part of the email I received:

"Fiancé K-1 Visas

We are currently experiencing a high volume of fiancée petitions. We are scheduling interviews in the order in which the petitions were received at our office, and will send this interview notice to the applicant by email, along with further instructions. Any petitions that expire during this period will be extended as necessary to cover the additional time. At present, the interview backlog spans three to four months following the date which NVC forwards approved I-129F petitions to U.S. Consulate General Casablanca. In preparation for the interview, applicants are welcome to review our Fiancé Visa<http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-visas.html>webpage."

So, I guess we're just going to be patient :-). Inshallah, we'll have some news soon.

you do not have a timeline so tell us what stage are at?

when did you apply

these answers assume your packet has gone to USCIS then to NVC and now to embassy for interview

message me at my ID and i will try to answer you further

as all you recd from embassy is a form letter / not personal message about your case

allah yessir

InshaAllah they will and that email is the robotic email we all get right after we email them. If your case has been sitting at the embassy for 4 months I wouldn't be surprised if the interview date already passed.

ok the timeline helps but can't be right says NVC recd in July and the embassy also recd it that month

how did you provide the AOS the I 864 and the 2 criminal invesigations from morocco that fast?

NVC takes at least 60 days to review all documents after they receive them so it is doubtful your packet got to embassy in Julyou

if you have provided all documents needed and paid the AOS and visa application fee, it is more likely you are looking at case going to embassy in either last 2 months of this year or beginning of 2017

i wish you the best

We finally heard from the consulate!!! Hamdullah!!! My fiance's interview is set for december 2. Moroccan US consulate did not want AOS sent ahead of time... they want all documents to be brought to the interview. I sent all the required documents from my part as soon as I could... I'm hoping the mail will get to him before the interview.

Everyone, thank you for being here to answer my questions... it meant a lot... you lessened my anxiety and I'm very grateful.

I will give updates:-) inshallah everything will favor our side :-)
