I married in 2006, my sister in law (US citizen) file my wife's F4 visa petition in 2008 and i will travel with her as husband.. my sister (US citizen) also file my F4 visa petition in 2009, i would like to ask that do i continue my F4 visa petition which file in 2009 or withdraw it..

some peoples suggesting me to withdraw your case because this will create issues when your wife priority date will be current date & i will also travel with her..

hi

no need to withdraw it, you can have more than one petition at the same time, the second one will be canceled when you get your visa

you don't need to do anything, the farthest along petition you continue, the other one you do nothing

Don't withdraw it, you can have two going, and just in case your wife's sister has something happen to her....

Do not listen to "some people." They are steering you wrong. "Some people" are incredibly stupid.

There is absolutely no problem with you having a pending case and your wife having a pending case. The cases are independent and have nothing to do with each other. Perfectly fine for your wife to have a case and for you to have another case.

Cancelling the petition for you would be incredibly stupid. If your wife dies before entering the US, then you and your children will not be able to enter the US. With your petition cancelled, there would be no way to the US for you and your children. With a petition for you, you and your children would be able to immigrate on your case.

Your petition is like an insurance policy. It would be stupid to cancel it.

Once you have your green card through the case for your wife, you can cancel the petition for you.
