Hey All,

My wife has a interview on Dec 13 F2a. Our Son Only has her name on his Birth Certificate and was wondering will this be a problem. When he was born we werent marry at the time so we never put my name on his B.c. i am the biological father. My wife also only has her Mom on her bc too because her parent werent marry at the time when she was born. My wife and son are both born in canada and canadian citizenship

Were you not present at his birth and didn't sign his birth certificate. In Canada you do not need to be married to have a father on a birth certificate. My daughter has her father on her birth certificate and has her father's last name but we were never married.

As it is, he's a derivative of his mother's visa, so he doesn't need your name, only hers.

You don't need the pictures. As a derivative of his mother's visa, that's all he needs to apply for a visa and travel with her, regardless of who his father is. But you may want to have your name put on his birth certificate before she leaves Canada. I believe each province allows this.

They're from vancouver and we called and ask about adding my name and vital place was like she needs a court order and dna test and i would need to be present. very confusing. if you know more info about this i would like to know. we trying to see can we just simply add my name. im the bio-father and is not like im denying it or we fighting for custody. so i dont understand why we need to go to court for it.

Says you have to call or email them to find out what you have to do because it varies by circumstance. If you called and they told you that's what you need, then that's what you need.
