Hello,

My fiance had an interview on Sept.21, they said he passed the interview, but was missing the original of MY divorce certificate. 5 days after the interview we've mailed it to Consulate, they were supposed to get it next day. The docs were sitting unprocessed for 3 weeks. Finally, after I bugged them enough they "discovered" our documents and processed them on October 18. I kept bugging them with the question if they considered our documents completed or kept waiting for something else that we weren't aware of. Finally, on November 1 I got a reply that our documents were completed and passed to the officer who supervises our case.

I've decided to go to Israel, leaving November 16. I plan us to visit Consulate and try to talk to somebody in person to find out what's going with our case and why do we have this delay. (All docs are there, our case looks solid, we are high school sweethearts who reconnected after 30 years. Last summer we both went to meet his parents and got their blessing, etc Have pics from now and 30 years ago supporting our case).

Any suggestions what will be the best way to approach the conversation?

All your ideas are welcomed.

Thank you in advance!

From my experience physically being there, they will not let you in unless you have an appointment. Did they say in their email what the next steps are?

I have never been able to reach them via phone, only the immigrant visa inquiries email address (I assume this is how you are maintaining contact with them also?).

I wonder if the delay happened with your paperwork/case because of the holidays in Israel around that same time frame. My fiance had his interview almost exactly a year ago and when we emailed them questions in September/October they took extra business days in getting back to us.

Did they keep is passport when he left the interview? How were things left off? Did they request any other information from either him or you?
