Issue with I-765 approved - no card

So I was notified in the mail that my I-765 and I-131 had been approved on October 10th. I originally filled 130/485/765+131 concurrently on August 8th. None of my statuses have changed online since October 10th so I called today as I still haven't had a biometrics appointment and no sign of and EAD. They told me I do need a Bio appointment and told me he would put a request in for one which the system showed a projected date in 15 days. He wasn't sure why I hadn't had one and said I should have, although it seemed it was more relevant to the 485. Firstly if I hadn't called would I have just been left in limbo forever with no EAD or AP? Or is it possible it will still be issued without a Bio appointment? I'm slightly confused as I feel this has been dragging on for a while now with next to no contact from USCIS.

I do not think it is possible to have an EAD & AP issued without biometrics first. Because they need to verify your identity and stuff first, also they used the photo they took at my bio appointment and printed my finger print on my EAD card.

probably that was a mistake, the picture and fingerprint that will appear on the card is from your biometrics taken

if you haven't had your fingerprints taken, then no card possible

If you can, you might try making an INFOPASS at your local office to do walkin biometrics instead of waiting for USCIS to schedule you an appointment.

As others have stated, it probably was a mistake, but the biometrics is a necessary step to get the EAD/AP card.
