Check with the I-129F. Please help

Hello all,

I recently submitted my Form 129F to the Texas direct mail box (10/29 mailed from the US Embassy in Pakistan where I work). I followed the checklist on the USCIS website but it did not say anything about sending a check with my form I-129F. I read that payment fees were due at the interview but it appears most of the folks on here send their checks with their initial I-129F submission. Will I have to submit a new 129F? If so, why does the USCIS Website not specify to mail the Visa fee check with the I-129F?

Thanks a lot all,

Ryan

There are two fees. One with the I-129F and one with the interview. I'm not sure if you should resubmit or just wait for them to request it. I'm sure someone on here will have the correct advice on this part!

They, USCIS will most likely return the petition because of lack of payment. You will just have to resend the petition with the check.

This is awful. I am away from the Embassy right now in the middle of nowhere and won't be able to receive my mail for 2 months. Why did the USCIS checklist not say anything about a check! I work for the US Gov't and have no idea how any of this Visa stuff works.

Directly from the instructions for the I129F: The filing fee for a Form I-129F is $340

Just mail in a new petition with the correct fees in USD (either via check or montey order drawn on a bank or financial institution from within the US), do not wait for everything you sent to be returned to you

I'll have to wait because the 2 passport size pictures are in the packet! I can get mine through our Admin guy no problem, but my Fiancee lives in the Philippines and I won't be back there until Dec.

Have your Fiancee in the Philippines scan or photograph a passport photo.

Lots of places in the US can take a digital photo and print passport photos from it.

During the immigration process, you will receive important, time sensitive mail.

It is in your best interest to check the mail often.

During the K1 phase you may get an unexpected RFE.

If you do not respond to an RFE by the deadline, your petition to be denied.

Later in the process it will be mail such as an interview notice, or biometric appointments.
