I just initiated an Service Request.

Expected time of answer is 10-Oct.

Who knows what it does.... A lot of us called today and submitted a inquiry and was told would hear back via email and or letter abt our inquiring since we are over due... I was given a conformation number which basically believes is just to confirm that I called.. One of my friends who called today spoke to supervisor and was told they are in back ground check so that's good.... Praise God

I think they are very unorganized as well. End of August I received a letter telling me I have an interview September 22nd which I will have. On August 10th I submitted a service request and for some reason September 18th I got a letter saying I got a response for my inquiry and my case is within normal processing time. My PD is Nov 7th. But anyways my point is i have already gotten the interview letter. What's the point of sending me that letter saying I'm within normal processing time? At least make it accurate and say a letter is already sent out for interview or sth.

Believe me I feel your frustration. They are definitely a very unorganized group of people as some people get updates on their phone apps, some letter only, some get texts, some get email and even tho you sign up for email alerts and or texts, everyone who has a app on their phone should see a update as isn't that why the app was created?? Those people don't use same method of contact for everyone, so always left in limbo... consistency  needs established

I submitted the inquiry on 08/12/17, given date of 09/03/17, got the email on 09/13/17 that additional background checks was being done. Standard BS answer that was given to everyone else who submitted an inquiry. Not happy camper here.

I do have a friend who actually has a PD date of August. She finally got a RFE notification. WTH.

Yesterday I received a response in the mail for a General Inquiry initiated 08-Aug-2017.

The response simply said that the case is in line to be reviewed by an officer and the allow 60 days for the review.

They added that if I don't receive an answer in 60 days, that I should contact them again

Not really sure what to make of this BS...

Actually I called before. When they say it's in review and expect to hear in 60 days, you will usually hear soon. I heard about a month later after I called.

Yes, we received the hard copy for NOA2 in the mail, but the online status still did not change, nor did the status in the app and we also did not receive any email notifications. No one told us how long it will take for USCIS to send the case to the NVC, so I guess we need to start calling them now as well to see if USCIS actually managed to send our case there... So yes, it is absolutely a very unorganized mess! I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of your approvals soon!

All right fellow Nebraska hell hole....I broke down and called USCIS. After getting a very pleasant tier 1 person, who pretty much looked at the same website as I do and read off what it said. So, I requested an escalation to a tier 2 officer.

Got a call back and basically she was trying to read off what I got in the inquiry of the out of date status. Yes, Nebraska is back logged and is taking a longer time frame....No duh.

So the magic words, can you tell if someone is ACTIVELY looking at our case? I was put on hold for a good 5 minutes, I'm sure for dramatic effects. She came back and no, your application has not been assigned to anyone.

WTH?? We are talking 300 days now!!!! What am I to do???

Well apparently call back or make another inquiry in 30 days......:huh:
