I really don't know where to begin, but to thank God! I have been following this post for MONTHS. We did not file in November our priority date is December 13, 2016 but this thread is a lot more active than the December thread. We are super excited! We received our NOA-2 today from USCIS. It was approved on the 31st of August -- about 8 1/2 months after the priority date.

This was a real anxious and tense time for us, it was especially hard being apart for eight months. It reached the point where we just bought a ticket for me to come visit my wife in Houston. We were unsure if they would let me in on my B1/B2 visa. I had no issue getting into the country. I flew into Miami (MIA). The immigration officer was friendly, no hassle at all. It was information from this very thread, where people said they had travelled into the country during the process, that prompted us to take a chance. I would just like to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to post. I feel that the importance of these forums cannot be overstated, even if just as a support mechanism.

Good luck to everyone! On to the NVC stage- any recommendations are greatly appreciated and accepted!

Congratulations!!!
May I ask, how did USCIS notify you? I am reading many different things about this... some people just receive a letter via the regular mail and no online updates. And others did get text messages/emails. My husband is currently traveling for business for a few weeks and I am really curious whether we might have received something in the regular mail at his US address?

I put in a case inquiry at the beginning of August and was told that I will receive a response by August 29th. So today I called and tier one told me that I was not outside of my processing time when I file the inquiry so that's why I did not get a respond. Then she goes to tell me that you are now out of your processing time because they're on November 26th and you have several options. Submit another case inquiry or email Nebraska service center to find out what's going on with your case. Then I asked to be transferred to tier 2. Of course the wait was so long that I had to do a call back. Receive a call from tier 2 and she checks the case and said that I am not outside of my processing time because they're still working on November cases. But within the next 30 days I should hear something. This is the main line that they use for everyone that's calling in regards to their cases. It's just really sad how they show a lack of emotions when it comes to people checking on their cases. From today on I will not check my case until I hear from them. Just really heartbroken right now. I will just continue to look forward to spending the Christmas and New Year's with my husband in South Africa.

Yes immigration period is heartless and they don't care how we are suffering. They can't even tell us the truth abt our cases and just roll off any words off their tongues to shut us up..

I to am already planning to go be with my husband in Ghana for his Bday, Christmas, New Years and our 2nd anniversary cos I missed celebrating the 1 st with him.. This is so painful.. 😢

After they update the uscis website this month, let's see what date will appear that they say they are processing. We are way over due because as you said, we have been overlooked and it's just not fair. No one can tell me it's because our husbands are from Africa as I seen many others approved from other service centers that just filed as late as March, so I'm not buying what they are selling as it's bs..

Don't understand why they would even tell us we can file a i129 which will allow them to come be with us until the process is done. Once they are we have file i130 the i129 doesn't matter anymore.  Don't understand!!!!

In my case my lawyer filed the 1-130 then filed the 1-129f already married K/3 telling me that my husband would come join me on the K/3 and he would be here with me in America while waiting for the 1-130 to be approved. Lawyers take your money and lie to you. My lawyer I haven't even seen yet because I have a lot of choice words to say to him and trust me, they are nice words... I some how believe because my lawyer filed that way, this is also a hold up. Damn lawyers just take your money and this one will definitely hear my mouth..

No it's not your lawyer fault. USCIS  tells us that we can file it. I did not us a lawyer.  USCIS just lied about it.

Really? When I called uscis they told me that people usually file K/3 when the spouse you're filing for has a child. My husband has no child... Oh heaven... All the different lies we get told. Mercy

The I-129F K3 visa allows your spouse to go to the States in order to wait for the 1-130 approval. A K3 can only be filled after you receive your NOA1 for the I-130. Around the time that each of us submitted our petitions, supposedly (according to my lawyer) K3 was processing much faster than I-130 which is why, at that time, it was a good option for bringing your spouse to the U.S. quicker. Now, with the backlogs, etc. the processing time for the K3 is the same as the I-130 so it is relatively useless to us now. They are simply putting our K3 petitions together with our I-130 and when our case finally comes under review, they move forward with the I-130 approval which results in the K3 petition being administratively closed. So it is very likely that this K3 petition has slowed down our cases, even though it is entirely useless and will be denied anyways 😡 It is beyond frustrating but what exactly can we do besides wait? Slowly going crazy as a result of this process...
