Just wanted to offer my update. I called and spoke with a tier 2 yesterday. He said ours was stuck in the background check but at least it has been started. No idea when it was started or how long it could take. PD is Nov. 21st and this is becoming unbearable.

Yes it's unbearable but thank God it's not just sitting untouched

Oh man, that is painful even to read! 😖

When your RFE arrives, do share it with us India folks especially, maybe we can help! 🙌🏽

Hang in there and think....once the RFE clears, you will be on your way to the NVC stage! 🙏🏼😍

Be well.

Thank you for your support; I'm eagerly waiting for mail!

We received and RFE from USCIS after approximately 4 months of radio silence (which we knew was coming) -- once we sent in the needed document, they moved us right along to NVC. I am hoping that the same will happen to you guys ;)

When I saw the RFE on the app, I remember that I stopped breathing for a bit...

I had every document you could think in there, but there was a confusion between the Indian marriage certificate vs Indian marriage registration certificate. Once I sent in the marriage certificate as well, we were good to go.

I was researching what generally people get RFE's for and see the marriage certificate coming up often.

We have submitted our court marriage certificate that clearly says "CERTIFICATE OR MARRIAGE". I keep wondering what it could be; after 10 whole months of nothing! :/

We still haven't received any postal mail. How much time after they acknowledged receipt of evidence in your case did you see the approval?

Yes there is confusion between Certificate of Registration of Marriage and a Marriage Certificate. Can't get the Certificate of Registration of Marriage without a Marriage Certificate, but USCIS cannot keep up with all the ever changing formalities in a country (region, state, city), so they have a set standard and it's best to follow it to a T 😅

Once they received it, it took about 10 days for them to approve it and it took 13 additional days for it to be received by the NVC

I received the notice from the USCIS app and a few days later, the hard copy arrived via mail.

Hope this helps. ☺️

I was supposed to receive a response to my online enquiry by September 1st according to my online service request confirmation email. I called USCIS they said "No, that is incorrect I should wait 30 days for a response". Hmm so why email me telling me I will receive a response by September 1st 😔😤

Just to clarify, I got the notice through mail. I never received any updates online. For those of you who are waiting, maybe that is what's happening to your cases too.

Hi Yhwinnie, just a quick question , did you receive the mail at the spouses/petitioners address in the USA or in the applicants country address?

Or can anyone else help me, where do they send the mail?  Thank you!

We are in the same boat. I was supposed to receive mine on August 29. This makes me feel like they are playing with our feelings or just don't care.
