My husband filed and USCIS received documentation November 14. Case was routed to Nebraska. I feel better that I have had of an approval for somebody that filed in November! However has anybody else gotten approval notice? I am supper anxious because I was hopeful my daughter could start schooling in the US this September/October, but our process has been so slow. My daughter is already a citizen.

Finally USCIS has updated their website with the processing times. As of March 31st USCIS was processing applications submitted on 30th Sept, 2016 or before. Ours should be around the corner.

National Visa Center

E-mail processing is way faster but not every country/embassy is eligible to process via E-mail only regular mail. So if you send out you documents via regular mail it will take a few months. That's the only difference.

Thanks for sharing! Although I am not sure what all the acronyms mean... I am assuming your embassy/consulate is Frankfurt? Is that FRN? My consulate is in Amsterdam, probably not eligible for email processing then...?

Newbie here! We filed for my husband with our PD November 7 at Nebraska Service Center. I just today received the email below regarding our case. I'm a little confused by it. Do you guys think this is a good sign or that we might be sent a request for more info/extensive background checks?

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.
Receipt Number: xxxxxxxxxxx
Application Type: I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE
Your Case Status: Initial Review
On May 23, 2017, we updated your name for your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number xxxxxxxxxxx. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

Based on what USCIS has said above it seems they need more information or documentation for the application submitted. I would call USCIS ans ask them for next steps as you had filed an I130
