He won. Democrats voted less than before. That tells me that while Trump had no more supporters than the previous 3 elections, Hillary had a lot less. Seems a lot of folks were tired of her deceptions and didn't see it worth the effort to go outside.

There is a widespread belief that Trump was able to rally a "silent majority" (people who were sick of the same ole, same ole) to vote for him and that silent majority was what pushed him over the top. The numbers don't bear that out. I think it's very interesting that this race was an "unpopularity contest" more than anything else. I don't recall there ever being a national election like this, certainly not in my life time.

I agree that it was weird. And like I said, Rep voters have been pretty steady the past 3 elections. Not so much the Dem voters. Truth is, Hillary lost a lot of voters, plain and simple.

Not as many as she deserved to lose, but enough.
