I am a lesbian and I am 60 years old. I have been actively discriminated against all my life - from the church, from business, and by the government. I finally thought I could live out my years in peace - with my and my spouse having the same rights and responsibilities of all legally married couples.

That could change with the appointment of a conservative Supreme Court Justice. So please do not call me a moron, as the poster below you did.

We have REAL reasons to be fearful.

Sukie in NY

All I said is this thread is hysteria people are bouncing off each other with all these maybes.....the man hasn't even taken office.

You may have a substancial scare but at the end of the day what can be done by all these people going crazy in here.

This is why it is so Important to vote the right people into office and not just go by the hype.

Finally the president does not have this control people want to give him.

There are laws branches of government and nothing will be a smooth transition.

People need to calm down.

You are all drowning in a half full glass of water.

I didn't call anyone a Moron

Yeah, I saw that yahoo article, not just Visa worries but those in the GC process. If a person is in ROC 751 process, then he or she counts as already issued a Green Card (even though it's Conditional GC), so hopefully any pausing of GC issuance wouldn't effect those in ROC process?

For any worried non-white immigrants, Hillary is still winning the popular vote in the election by almost 400,000 votes now, and be assured there are WAY more reasonable and pluralistic citizens in the USA then there are biggots and racist fools. They are vastly outnumbered especially in the coasts and major cities. IMO Trump still holds Northerner social values as he's from Queens NYC, and it's ironic all these Southerners bought into his xenophobic rhetoric even though he's clearly a "carpetbagger". He's shown himself toning down after meetings in Washington.

My visa is IR1 spouse visa which hopefully get before feb or in jan or in dec cos interview done a long time ago. After arriving in usa how long it will took to recive my 10 year green card. ?

My husband is from India. We were approved a spouse visa in September, however we won't receive it until our 2ND wedding anniversary which is in March. If Trump decides India is a "terror prone country" (side not, what the hell does that even mean???) I'm very scared my husband's visa will be canceled, if we don't have it before then.

Agreed, I think he will impose a ban on few select countries and Syria is probably high on the list.

Do you think India will be one of those countries?

He has seemed to have walked back about repealing Obamacare. Unrelated to immigration but I think he'll walk back in some of his more out there policies now he's won

The Trump campaign never actually mentioned any specific countries. The US has a great relationship with Indonesia, and the Indonesian government has done a good job of cracking down on terrorism ever since the bombing in Bali. But who knows? I have hope, but I'm extremely nervous about our application.

For the people saying stuff like "don't worry, he only wants to ban certain countries," well some of us have loved ones in the immigration process in countries he could potentially ban.

I really hope so. This article is what makes me worried too. I will have to file for ROC between June and September 2017.

I am also concerned for our visa.

1. Interviews next week. Feeling less confident about the outcome.

2. If my fiancé gets it we were planning to have me go to Senegal in February when work dies down to meet his parents officially then fly back together.

Should I bring him over asap before Trumps presidency or wait til Feb because Trump won't be able to make any changes that quick?

Note: he's from a Muslim country with no terrorist activity...

Also we decided together to still have him come despite being a Black, African Muslim because we will not live in fear! We will continue living our lives and living our love!

He has made repeal and replace on his key points, I suggest not believe what the media is feeding you. If you believe them then Hillary would of won in a landslide, instead it was quite the opposite

If I was in your shoes I would have no fears, I don't forsee any issue coming her from India on a spousal visa. Now if it was a work related visa for IT then I would be worried.

How ironic, considering his wife allegedly worked as a model on a tourist visa for a while, which - as most of us know - is illegal.

Actually this shows how Trump can/will understand how the tourist visa the HIB Visa the family visa can all be taken advantage of, he will probably have the most understanding of US Immigration then any President before him. We have a business man taking over the USA, not a career politician.

I believe that the person who played around with TAX is the same person who will play around with his supporters.
TRUMP WILL BE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AT THE WHITE HOUSE.
That does not mean I support him but I expect this scenario.
WHY?
Politics always force you to act different in so many issues.
