Depends on how you define coverage.

If a cell phone company could only "cover" 47% of the total population, most people would see that as wholly insufficient. That is the extent of Trump's coverage. Yes geographically it is wide, but that isn't the point of coverage. Doesn't matter if you "cover" cornfields. You need to cover actual people. It's a failed metaphor.

I'm not trying to negate the success of Trump. He has won. I just don't want people calling it something it is not. He won without a majority. It was an incredibly narrow race. That is the truth. Trying to argue he "covers" the entire country is just a lie. He has won and will be President, but he will be only the second President to not win the popular vote in more than the last 100 years (1888, prior to Bush).

Given what Trump supporters fell for, it isn't a big surprise to see them claim a mandate from the losing end of the popular vote, and completely ignore their own previous whining Trump would win the popular vote but the "rigged system" i.e. Electoral College would unfairly grant the Presidency to Clinton.

I don't think she can actually accept the fact that she lost to HIM.

My feelings about Trump aside. I voted for Hillary and I do think that Hillary feels herself to be superior than most of her constituents. That feeling of superiority was very evident in the primaries the way she and the dnc shafted Bernie Sanders, expecting the people not to care and still vote for her in the presidential election. That feeling of superiority appears to be what cost her the election as over 6 million dems that voted in 2012 did not vote this time around.
