That you're wrong again? It makes no difference. Just thought you should know. Righteous Trump supporters were not galvanized or motivated to come out by mean liberal name calling. That's BS and you know it. Clinton lost because she couldn't get her own party to come out and support her. Trump didn't garner any more support than Romney or McCain did in their losses.

I'm not deriving any sentiment. I'm saying the reasoning is wrong. Liberals did not call 'everyday ordinary' people racist misogynistic or homophobic. Liberals pointing out that (some) Trump supporters were racist or misogynistic did not drive more 'everyday ordinary' people to Trump in order to vote 'against' Clinton.

Nobody encouraged that demographic more than Trump did, and they voted for him because he appealed directly to them, not in spite of Hillary.

If that were the case, then it would seem they could not honestly claim to be driven to vote against Clinton by any perceived insults, because they had already decided to vote for Trump prior to that.

The comments I see from liberals over the last 24 hours prove that they have not learned a thing. The automatic assumption that "the majority of the country is ok with racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia and sexual assault". Comments such as "the ignorant fools will always outnumber the rest of us". That same condescending attitude that led to Trump being elected in the first place, is still here full force. You cannot look down upon people just because they haven't been indoctrinated in some shiny ### college and expect them to tolerate that. Liberals did not learn anything from these elections. The Republicans had 8 years and haven't learned anything either. Fortunately it turned into an unpopularity contest and Clinton ended up being slightly less appealing than Trump, which is no small feat. I don't think they want to go into 2020 relying on Democrats staying home again, because historically, that's unlikely to happen.

This is the election in a nutshell. The republicans didn't gain any voters from the past few presidential elections, the democrats lost voters. I think the shafting of Bernie Sanders in the primary played a much larger role than anyone thought it would, including myself.
