Hi everyone.

So I am going to have my Mother as a joint sponsor.

My only question is this:

Do I include a photocopy of her 1099-R since she is retired?

I was told that it is also a form of the tax return statement.

I also see a 1040 form for 2015 in my both my Parents names.

Should I make a photocopy of that and send as well?

The reason I ask is because I'm not sure if I should send a photocopy the actual 1040 too.

It says on the I-864 to just list "as stated on 1040EZ"

so I was thinking of just photocopying the statement and not the actual filled out worksheet thing.

Btw I found the 1040 for 2015 and 2014 but not 2013.

I will also be attaching a note that I am in the process of setting up a home business and that I plan on filing taxes for this business year and from now on.

So far, I am going to attach my business licence and find some sort of receipt or document stating that I own my website.

My last last question is:

Would it be wise to state some of my assets as well?

Things like my car and business related things like my office equipment?

You will need to include the complete copy of your parent's joint return, which is all forms, schedules, W-2s and/or 1099s, or an IRS transcript plus your mom's 1099 to show her individual income.

It would be even better if your dad would fill out an I-864A to go along with her I-864 so that their incomes would be combined to meet the requirement for joint sponsorship.

They will not care about your future business and future tax filings.

My Father is not able to because he is handicapped but my Mother has the power of attorney.

The only 1099's I saw had both of their names on it, can I still use that?

Their joint return meets the requirement.

What do I put for her current income since she is retired?

I read somewhere not to put the tax return as the "Current income" but what she is expected to make this calendar year.

Her income alone must meet the requirement, if the spouse is not providing an I-864A to combine their incomes. She cannot state their joint/combined income as her individual income amount.

Retirement/disability income would need the benefits letter(s) and 1099 to prove the amount received. If there is non-taxable income, provide 12 months of bank statements to show how much is deposited each month.

Thank you for the feedback KayDeeCee!

So I have photocopied the 1099's for the past three tax years. It is her individual income in her name.

The 1040 I have is an Individual Income filed joint. Does that automatically make it a joint account now?

If so, do I just photocopy my father's 1099's as well?

Lastly, the I-864 states to only attach a photocopy of the most recent year.

So I only have to make a photocopy of the 1040 for 2015 only?
