Different Passport and I-94 Arrival Date

Hi! I just noticed that the date in my passport admission stamp is different from the date of entry in my I-94. Well this is partly correct. I arrived in LAX at 10PM of October 6. The line at the immigration was crazy long, I was in queue for more than 2 hours. It was already midnight when I got out of the airport. Question, in all the forms that are asking for my date of entry in the United States, which one will I follow? The Oct 6 stamped in my passport or the Oct 7 in my I-94? Thank you!

I-94 is the official one, that's when you were granted entry, not when you landed. It's a good one though!

does this work for leaving too? say your here on the last day of your authorized stay and flight gets delayed till after midnight have you technically over stayed?
